Start taking away any benefits the strikers have if they aren’t doing their prison industry jobs.
At Angola that could be as simple as withholding participation in the rodeo and craft fairs from them.

That's actually not a bad idea. If a 20 year old commits murder and gets life, in 50 years he will be 70.
The probability of a 70 released murderer committing another murder is near zero.
However, prisoners over 70 become very expensive to the state for medical care. Prison is not a healthy place so if they make it to 70 they've got all kinds of chronic problems.

Screw their demands but I think it'd be interesting to put a percent of their "wages" in an account for them to receive when and if they get out, hold a job and stay out of trouble with the law. I wonder if it would incentivize good behavior.
