Why won't Dems get her testimony in a timely fashion?

rassley hasn’t yet committed to an additional round of public questioning but at this point it may be impossible to avoid.

He has tried to schedule follow-up calls with Ford and Kavanaugh but Democrats have so far refused to participate.

“The standard procedure for updates to any nominee’s background investigation file is to conduct separate follow-up calls with relevant parties,” Grassley said in his statement.

“In this case, that would entail phone calls with at least Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford. Consistent with that practice, I asked Senator Feinstein’s office yesterday to join me in scheduling these follow-ups. Thus far, they have refused. But as a necessary step in evaluating these claims, I’ll continue working to set them up,” he said.

Senate GOP staff say that follow-up calls are the next appropriate step and that the chairman will then make a decision on whether to schedule additional hearings. LINK

That's why Grassley issued his statement.

He's laying down the marker that since this was dropped on his lap, he's been trying to work through the established procedures and is being stonewalled by the same person that withheld this information from the Committee for almost 3 months.

He's not going to delay the vote.

The only principle they have is opposing Trump

Their game is painfully obvious and since they are such pussies there is no chance for retribution from the voters.

No. They are just two of the three (with McCain being the other) GOPe members who Trump most prominently marginalized and ended their political careers. These guys aren't "principled conservatives." They are two self-serving jerk offs who are "choosing not to run for reelection" because they know they would get trounced and embarrassed. Thus, their sole mission during their remaining days in Congress is to derail Trump..a guy that has implemented many of the "conservative ideas" they spent years promising, but never delivering.
