Listened to his speech. Very perceptive and an excellent and accurate description of why so
many Americans are turning inward.
Yes. He seems to have a deep understanding of why we're behaving the way we are even if he disagrees with our recent policy changes

Yes. It was the right thing to do. The original title was based on the title of the video.

That's interesting, if not probably also quite telling.

Why are you giving me Singapores resume? It doesn’t matter.
Either we have a trade problem or not. We don’t have to accept bad trade terms because they are super neat

Fair enough. I'll accept that.
PS - Your favorite President will be speaking at a rally in about an hour. I know you will want to catch that.

Understand. I'll say that everything he is saying good about the U.S. is in the past tense
So Singapore doesn't want to lose their #1 booty call? Their #1 trick?
Is the pimp (CCP) putting a slap down on Singapore?
Makes more sense now

After WW2 America had an incredible period of growth in economic and political power. It’s almost funny how know-nothing kids try to re-write history
as a justification for their slavish and foolish devotion to MAGA.. America will endure and remain great in spite of MAGA. It will take a term or two to repair the damage and restore normalcy, but even this old fart will live to see it.

I thought he was basically saying "Americans are understandably tired of being the only country that exhausted its own resources to provide security and stability for the globe. There will be instability until the new trading relationships are formed. Singapore looks forward to the new contours of that international trading system."

Most Americans don't understand shite outside of our borders - and don't care to.
proof right here ITT

Because you seem to imply that being ethnically Chinese predisposes Singaporeans to be sympathetic to PRC. That is just not the case.
Are the Jews in the US in lockstep with Israel’s Hamas strategy?
Are Cuban Americans big fans of the Castros?
A lot of Chinese in Singapore are there BECAUSE they want nothing to do with the PRC.

Let me guess. You think Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, right?
Keep worshipping at the altar of the corrupt Political Establishment, VOR. But since I'm actually enlightened about what's going on, I'm gonna MAGA like it's 1999.

If you think Singapore is just a “little China”, you didn’t learn a thing.

Objectively, China is “the old country” for Singapores elite ruling class. If they took sides with China in this trade conflict, it’d surprise no one but you, apparently. But none of that matters at the end of the day. Either the current trade arrangement is good or it’s not.

Your inability to stay on topic with any topic is quite pathetic. Why do you always do that?

VOR, that's absolutely right...but our comparative position in the world today is vastly different. Don't you agree?
America was quite successful in helping the Thirld World to develop. Our trade deficits could be justified on the grounds of that development. Those days are over.

Jesus that's just incomprehensibly stupid
You know who isolation hasn't worked out well for? Russia. So let's copy their blue print and get into desperation mode I guess.

I was making a point, but it went over your head. Anybody who can't see that the Political Establishment has attacked and harassed President Trump in an unprecedented fashion, or WHY they do it, like you and VOR, probably researched the JFK assassination and bought LBJ's sham Warren Commission's report hook, line, and sinker.
It's not my fault that people like you and VOR aren't smart enough to figure it out.

Poking most of the people we're poking makes no sense
You might argue that it's looked at as pure stupidity by most of the world
It makes sense to attenuate our reliance on China. It doesn't make sense to shite on the countries that can help us do that.
Lol.... it never fails to amuse me how some folks here are deluded by thier sense of their imagined general intelligence in trade, geopolitical issues, and any topics that present themselves.
Listen. Trump has already been where your trying to go.... he's thought thru all of this himself along with some if the brightest economic minds in the world. I'm not talking about economic professors who have never accomplished anything in business or economically, but folks like Bessent that have actual experience in real life economics, not barking at kids in a classroom!

No. You were side stepping the topic as you always do and making fictitious assumptions about people's beliefs on unrelated topics. As you always do.
Nothing went over my head. I see right through your inadequate understanding of literally anything and everything that is discussed on this board.
You're so dedicated to not discussing the realities at hand that you even started a thread about some fictitious alternate reality where Harris won the election and how much worse things might be. You're incapable of discussing things that are actually happening in the world. I see through it and most other people see through it also.
