It is rather interesting that a lot of China's recent success is because they copied many of the things that made Singapore successful. If Singapore and China are alike in any way it's because China followed their model. Not the reverse situation which is being heavily implied here.

Guess where most of that goes... A city of seven million people (the size of metro los angeles) does not consume half the amount of goods of the richest country in the world... they re-export it, probably a lot to USA.
Yep, same goes for Singapore. They call it Singapore Washing. Add up at least 30 to 40% of the US trade with Hong Kong and Singapore and put that number on China. Chinese are in a very bad spot. No wonder they are squeezing Singapore to go after US policy.
FYI between 2012 and 2016 US imported annually @22 billion in goods from Singapore. That number is 45 billion today. It goes without saying
China is a-hole.

Sure. Commies are going to commie. But they certainly learned some things from Singapore

Singapore is more like America these days than America is.

Listened to his speech. Very perceptive and an excellent and accurate description of why so
many Americans are turning inward.

And I feel for people who claim to travel but show no evidence of learning anything about the world.
And the “poor” thing just outs you as a troll or a pretentious windbag.
Reasonably sure I’ve seen more of the world than you, so you can drop that idiotic gambit.
