quote:

Take a moment and look at the image.
Before politics.
Before labels.
Before assumptions.
Before we decide who belongs and who does not.
Look again.
Every hand is different.
Different stories.
Different experiences.
Different struggles.
Different hopes.
Yet every hand carries the same truth:
Human dignity is not something we earn.
It is something we possess.
The measure of a society is not how it treats people who are popular, powerful, or familiar.
The measure of a society is how it treats people whose experiences are different from its own.
As Pride Month continues, I find myself reflecting on a simple question:
Can we celebrate the dignity of all human beings, even when we do not fully understand one another?
Because dignity is where democracy begins.
Dignity is where community begins.
Dignity is where belonging begins.
And when we protect the dignity of others, we strengthen our own humanity as well.
What does human dignity mean to you? See less

the image shows different colored hands layed together

what are you thoughts on this post?

My thoughts are

Why do we need a month to celebrate another person's sexual preferences

Why is there a flag?

Is there dignity in having sex with the same gender? Dignity in trying to change your gender?

I think the majority of the population is tired of this nonesense

It's all about conditioning society to accept and approve such sin or choices

There isn't much dignity in the things I've done with the opposite sex, either, so I don't know if that's the best question to ask.

Their words are nice and all but why do they not also try to see a conservative's POV?

I have to call bullshite on any attempt by them to be sincere. They are not in the least. This is all political theater and they will use anyone or group they can to accomplish their agenda.

Not demanding, but it would be nice to have a celebration.

Its the constant seeking approval and validation from others that I get tired of. Be gay, I really dont care, but if you need my approval to do it and be happy then you must not have much pride in it to begin with.

I'd say I'm pretty neutral on the whole gay thing, I dont care either way as long as they keep kids out of out, but I will never come to the conclusion that being gay is a "positive" thing in any way. So if your goal is to track down every last person on the planet and browbeat them into supporting your lifestyle, you'll never win.

What you do in the privacy of your own bedroom is between you and your partner. I don’t know why you even HAVE to have validation for it, much less have it celebrated by those who disagree with the lifestyle.

It’s all none of my business unless I have do deal with it specifically with the people I know and love, primarily family.

I neither promote nor discourage pride month. It doesn’t impact me as for as I can tell. I have not done any research on it, but I can’t see where it hurts others.

As usual, I’m always open to change my mind given additional knowledge.

The whole "pride" thing is redundant and moot. Pride is what one feels from an accomplishment.

So if one is truly born ghey, how can you feel a sense of accomplishment, and pride, from that? It's inherent, right??? The only way you could viably and realistically take pride is if it is actually a choice and an accomplishment, and if that is the case then the very premise of their existence is already undermined.

The banging itself wasn't the celebration?

You’ll have to refresh my memory, if you care enough. I don’t pay attention to the politics as close as most folks.

I’m with you. Also waiting for “20 year old women who look like they’re 16” month. You just know the feminists are going to hate that one.
