This is just one small example why highly qualified and honorable people are staying the he-- away from government service and we have trash like AOC and Omar in charge of confirming our leadership. Warren is reaching dementia levels in a hurry!

She didn't ask a question. She campaigned by letting everyone know of her piece of legislation, and she bitched and ranted about something or other, and once again proved what a retard she is.

I actually agree with liz warren (god I need a bath)

Anything that can limit the military industrial complex in this country is a good thing. Generals and DOJers (Comey!) working for govt, then getting huge paying jobs on the other side of the deals they’ve made with contractors is a COMPLETE CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

I will say, I don’t know how this move works into Liz warren’s big plan, and I’d bet there’s a specific angle they are working that’s more corrupt than this surface argument, but on its face, I’m against high profile govt employees that handle billions upon billions with contractors switching sides. It’s bullshite.

Oh bullshite. A person shouldn't have to wait 4 years to get a job after serving the country. Shut up with that weak arse shite. She wants him to sit 4 years then Congress should have to sit 4 years after they leave office and hold NO job for any company they took money from while in office. Until Congress passes that law they and you can choke on bag of dicks.

I was actually supportive of this idea, as well. However, this raises a concern that this bill would block specifically skilled individuals from appointments and reserve those appointments for politicians only. I definitely don’t want key expertise positions to be held exclusively by politicians. Perhaps the bill is too restrictive and some tweaks should be made to allow one cycle within 4 years.

Losing one’s cool the way she did at the end of that exchange showed a complete failure of leadership proficiency.

She was overly emotional, unable to deal with an interpersonal challenge, and rattled in the face of a situation that did not unfold the way she’d expected it to.

Truth be told, I’m surprised. I assumed she was typically more composed than that.

how do you stop corruption? You’re ok with key decision makers at the DOD signing Lockheed Martin to a $400 billion sweetheart deal and then being hired by that same firm in 6 months????

You don’t see where a corrupt govt employee might give away the tax payers money knowing he’ll get a shiny new office for life after military service with company he just hooked up with a wink and a nod?!?!?

I agree LSU Tiger. Its one of the reasons we end up with f-35 fighter jets costing 100s of billions at a time when we are relying more on drones an sats. The spending is out of control. And its not just the revolving door and the lobbying, every friggin congressman has a foundation set up specifically designed to sidestep directly taking funding.

Ask yourselves why the Saudis gave millions to Mccains foundation, it was just a workaround, he agrees to funding for the weapons boys, they sell to Saudi, with a little gravy on the side and the Saudis donate the gravy back to the Mccain foundation for all the various contracts.

By the way, I think Warren is a POS someone needs to strangle her for the albatross of a fed org that is supposed to be some credit watchdog, I forget the name of it, she formed it and its a 100 million dollar plus joke.

I agree that we should do something to eliminate conflict of interest. But one of the above folks said, we need to do that across the board...congress can in some ways accept their $$$ while still in office...they don't have any waiting period. So yeah, make that rule universal.

I also love when people get called out for their grandstanding bullshite.

And she is too dumb to be able to make her statements and ask her questions without having to read them from a prepared statement, probably written by a staff aide.

That is very revealing....

Look. I'm no fan of Warren, she's a cuckoo, but this was not a bad look for her.

She is engaged in the theater of running for President. Her supporters will eat it up and it could sway some other like minded nuts.

As far as her bill she was cheerleading. I'm not a fan of those restrictions but I can see where reasonable people could disagree on the issue.

These whole conformations are joke now and colossal waste of time. Just get right to the party line vote and move on.

I see you are with Warren in presuming guilt and actually punishing folks who forgo millions to aid the country. I prefer to presume innocence and hammer those who violate ethics rather than punish the innocent.

And as I said, I would have told Warren to pound sand until Congress agreed to the same 4 year stipulation.

The fact that you feel dirty and need a shower should prove maybe that feeling dirty has more to do with your belief being dead fricking wrong than because Warren also agrees with you.

You are probably not aware but it is sexist to criticize a woman by calling her emotional. We will look past this transgression but don’t let it happen again. Signed: PC Police
