She has a point. It is a conflict of interest.

Maybe don’t spend your entire time on a hatchet job speech framed as a “question” and then interrupt a succinct and reasonable reply. Then complain “I didn’t go over -he went over!”

What an a-hole.

It's not always a conflict of interest. There are honest people out there but Warren isn't one of them so I get why it's tough for her.

Anything that can limit the military industrial complex in this country is a good thing. Generals and DOJers (Comey!) working for govt, then getting huge paying jobs on the other side of the deals they’ve made with contractors is a COMPLETE CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

I agree with this but would like to expand it. No politician should enter politics barely making any money and then accumulate millions of dollars. Presidents shouldn’t be able to leave office and get $500K for a 50 minute speech, sign $40M boom deals and congressmen/women shouldn’t be able to becoming $1M a year lobbyists!

You are probably not aware but it is sexist to criticize a woman by calling her emotional. We will look past this transgression but don’t let it happen again. Signed: PC Police

I’m a woman. We’re typically emotional beings, particularly when compared to our male counterparts.

But over the years—with increased maturity and self-awareness—I’ve learned that the more emotional I feel in a [professional] situation, the more necessary it is for me to take a calming breath and cool my jets.

It’s all about mindfulness. There are plenty of female leaders who recognize this reality. Warren should know bettter. That exchange (in OP video clip) was demeaning and shameful.

There may be honest people but the process in general allows people to take advantage of the system. Just because someone's intentions are good doesn't mean it's not a conflict.
The fact that you believe that makes you the exact demographic they are looking to take advantage of.
So congrats on being a sheep I guess.

And as I said, I would have told Warren to pound sand until Congress agreed to the same 4 year stipulation.

The fact that you feel dirty and need a shower should prove maybe that feeling dirty has more to do with your belief being dead fricking wrong than because Warren also agrees with you.
im tired of endless war. I’m tired of the military industrial complex which RUNS this country. It’s the one issue that unites democrats and republicans, north and south. I think most servicemen are great people who are making sacrifices for my freedom. But the point remains. The MIC owns both parties

I absolutely believe if we’re putting these limits on govt employees, it should include congress to lobbyists as well.

well no one ever gets “hammered” for their corruption so WTF are you talking about? I’m for putting in rules that hold our govt officials accountantable. I don’t know if Big Chief warren’s bill is answer, but something needs to be done about our govt employees being millionaires on $168K/yr jobs

And as I said, if Congress is held to the same standard then fine but she doesn't get to pick and choose which position or PARTY is held the that standard. All or none. No piecemeal attack the opposition with a non-existing hypothetical regulation which she herself would never accept.

Congress should be held to same standard.
However, just because they're not still doesn't make a conflict of interest.

The issue is you can't prove that all of those contracts were corrupt dealings. It's like saying all black people in jail are there because of racism. It happens, but it's rarely the case. He's spot on, this mindset Warren has assumes all corporations and all employees at big corporations are corrupt and sinister actors.

Also if this were a rule, nobody qualified in their respective field would leave the private sector for a lesser paying job. That leaves functioning retards running government programs who have no idea what they're doing.

They operate under the exact same conflict and until they change that conflict they don't get to pick and choose who should have to sit for 4 years. You and I know, Congress would NEVER agree to that regulation just like they would never agree to term limits. So no, Warren can choke on her peace pipe. She was grandstanding over a nonexistent hypothetical which she herself would never write into law for her position.
