Born in ‘65, so first was Nixon in ‘68. I remember the Watergate hearings. First vote was for Reagan in ‘84.

Every one (I think) since and including Kennedy in 1960. My first vote was for Ford in 1976. The most ecstatic I've been was Reagan in 1980. Jimmy Carter was TERRIBLE.

Every one since 1964. John F. Kennedy was president when I was born. 1980 was the first election I ever voted in and pulled the lever for Ronald Reagan.

Born in ‘50 under Truman and have fuzzy memories about “General Ike” being sworn in. Better memories of him later.

I have vivid memories (age 10) of sitting on my dad’s lap to watch the Kennedy-Nixon debate in ‘60 and later that election night.

My first vote was for Nixon in ‘72 in thanks for him pulling me out of Vietnam in late ‘69. (Would have voted for him as an 18-yo Marine in ‘68 but voting age was still 21.)

Only time to ever vote for a (D) was for Carter. Still doing penance for that one. Considered voting for Clinton but that was a rapidly passing fancy.

My parents were old school conservative (Ds) but voted party line (yellow dog Democrats). They would have jumped to (R) a long time ago.

I was born in 1941, but the first election I recall is Truman winning in 1948. The first election in which I voted was in 1964. (The MSM told me that if I voted for Goldwater, we'd end up in an unwinnable war in Southeast Asia. The MSM was right. I voted for Goldwater, and the rest is history.)

Born in 1965, so I was alive for:
Nixon 68 and 72
Carter 76 (at that time, all the kids I knew that went to SBC churches were supporting Carter)
Reagan 80 and 84 (84 was the first time I voted in a POTUS election)
Bush Sr. 88
Clinton 92 and 96
Bush Jr. 00 and 04 (we wondered why the networks were calling Florida for Gore when Bush kept chopping into the lead)
Obama 08 and 12
Trump 16, Biden 20, and Trump 24

1976 would've been the first in my lifetime. Was one month away from 3 years old.

Born in 1979, so 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, 2024. The first one that I voted in was 2000 for Dubya.

So in my lifetime, there has been Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr., Obama, Trump, Biden, and TRUMP!

What changed and made you vote Trump this time but didn’t vote in 16 or 20?

Not OP but I lean more libertarian than anything. Voted Johnson in 2016 because Louisiana was going red and I wanted the LP to get federal funding.

2020 I voted to Kanye because long story short my wife was pregnant during COVID, had some serious complications, and I wasn't able to be around her during those doctor/hospital visits. Not a Biden fan but Trump was a pussy during COVID and the ordeal we went through soured me on him. Again, Louisiana was going red anyway. If I was in a battleground I would've gone Trump but I wasn't.

This go round I went Trump. He's imperfect and I still think conservatives put him on a pedestal that goes against what they believe on multiple issues but he's what we need right now.

80-24. I don’t remember 80, but I remember the rest. Ross Perot dropping out in 92 screwed over the Republicans for 3 decades. He was the OG Donald Trump.

7 year old me and my mom made the long, cold walk from the watergate hotel to the capitol for Reagan’s inauguration. Police made my mom throw her ERA flags in the trash.

I remember walking down the street and mom told me “there’s George Bush, go shake his hand!” I’m pretty sure that I shook hands with secret service.

Mom un-assed the cash for a cab rideback.

I also remember sitting on the edge of the bed back in our room watching the news that the hostages were being released.
