Israel met with Russia last week and warned them if Iran/Hezbollah launched any attack that Israel would take out Syria's weapons depots which would have made Syria vulnerable and allow the Turks to take more Syrian land.

CBSN's is reporting the Erbil Consulate that was targeted wasn't hit at all because the missiles hit "far north" of the Consulate and into the desert. CBSN also said the Iraqi military warned its soldiers this afternoon to leave the base and to stay at least a kilometer range away before the Iranians launched their attack.

I think trump will roast the shite out of Iran tomorrow.

We won’t retaliate because there were no casualties. Iran will call it a win. Hopefully we get a cool down period now. But the fight continues against the proxies in Iraq. We can’t leave. That is what they want!

You're giving the Iranians more credit than they deserve. They are not PR geniuses. The misinformation had everything to do with the media running with every unverified report they could get their hands on just like they do in situations like these every...single...time.

For instance...why the hell are you going to run with a casualty figure given to you by Iranian state-run media when they have no way of knowing what was going on at Al-Asad airbase? They're in Tehran not Baghdad!

I dont think you are following. The misinformation and propaganda i was referencing was on twitter and via the Iranian state run media because they were more worried about internal optics.

It may change, but as more comes out it seems more likely that this attack played out as the Iranians intended. We will see if that continues with the US response.
