The women negotiated their contract. They wanted year round guaranteed pay along with benefits whereas the mens pay is based off of wins/loses ( higher rish higher reward). Based off of the amount of revenue each brings in the women received a higher percentage then the men do.
The women would have made more money if they had pay based off of win/loses unless of course they played a schedule full of 15yr old boys.

We are still in an economic dip and we aren’t even close to full employment. If the pay gap is real, men are sustaining an $1 loss compared to $.78 for women. This injustice can no longer be ignored.

How about the pay gap in music? There are tons of towns and cities besides NYC or Boston that have orchestras. Those musicians have to get second jobs to eat.
I've known several and they are all far left socialists who demand govt set wage scales for all employment to make things fair.
They won't accept the fact that most people aren't interested in the opera or the symphony.

Socialists really need to establish a working pay scale for employers, factoring in wokeness, gender identity, race, etc.

Sports are a beauty contest using athletes.
I'm sorry, if a 15U boys team is more competitive than the women's Olympic champions I'm not buying their brand. If a college or AAU team can dominate an WNBA squad then I am not watching.
People pay a premium for elite play. It's what I'd pay to see if I were a soccer fan. Now, if the women's team wasn't infested with nasty man-hating bulldykes and roast beef hoes then I would probably watch the lingerie edition but that's just me.
