Exactly. It lost on merits just like I expected it would. Our govt. process works if we work it.

There’s no way America can keep this loser in power for 3 more years. We will be eaten alive by outsiders or at war within.

Until after the November elections. Then we will call eliminating the filibuster an affront to bipartisanship.

Our gov't process does not work. At all. One minor win is not going to change the cliff we are falling off of right now. The left is desperate so look for more extreme ways to make sure elections become subject to federal law, and complete state sovereignty is dissolved.

Don't let Manchin and Sinema fool you. They need to go, YESTERDAY. We should never be in the position we are in where the extreme left, which consists of ALL DEMOCRATS, can dissolve state's rights so easily. Replace Manchin and Sinema with Republicans. They need to be ousted. But, our populace is too stupid, and are busy praising those to liberals because they didn't join the extremists. How noble...

Basically, unless, you know, the Dems actually wanted to try to govern. They could blow up BBB into individual smaller bills where there is broad bipartisan support and move to pass those. Then, if the GOP filibustered, they could rightly scream it's all political and they care nothing for the country.

It's frightening that only 2 out of 50 Democrat senators have any sense at all.

What a pathetic political party.

Logical question:

If the most people in the history of the United States supposedly voted in 2020, and the current president supposedly got the most votes ever, why do we need legislation to ensure that people can vote?

Seems like they did just fine less than a year ago.

I think it’s a few more than that. They’re using Manchin and Sinema as cover.

It’s worse that more of them don’t have the nads to stand up to their own leadership.

Fify

There has never been anyone who wanted to vote that couldn't, sans a few felons.
If you want to vote, you should cherish the opportunity and take the time to learn the candidates and take the necessary steps to do so.
America doesn't just hand out driver licenses just because you show up, you have to do due diligence to earn the privilege to drive.
I'm not saying people need a test to vote, but I am saying that if you can't do the simple things, like preparing yourself and at least making sure you're properly registered, you don't deserve to vote.

Further, voter registers need to be verified at a much higher rate, not less as Biden wants.
How would this ever "stop voting rights"?

This bill was nothing more than a free pass to manufacture fraudulent votes.

One theory is that Obama, Rice, et. al., put him out there yesterday knowing he would botch it and they can now start the process to 25th him. My problem with that is Kamala will be even worse. The other problem with that is there no tie breaker in the 50/50 Senate with no VP. The only way they could get a VP is by bipartisan back room negotiations, so we might could end up with a more moderate VP.

there are plenty that want the GOP to do this when/if they control the Congress and the Presidency. It is very short sighted.
