and the best interest of the USA today. Instead of bowing down to the Iranian Mullahs and the Russians. As well as the best interest of our ally, Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood saw this as an opportunity to split the USA away from Israel and SA and surround them. And run Egypt into a Brotherhood ruled state. Forcing them into the Soviet camp for protection from a nuke armed Iran..

At some point Iran will overthrow the bloodthirsty, death to America, death to Israel Iranian Mullahs and hopefully change the ME. Until then the best thing we can hope for is to contain them and keep them from getting the nukes and delivery systems they WILL USE! Tough situation but we have to play for time hoping that he people of Iran will somehow get their country back. John Bolton is a pragmatic and tough son of a gun and I see his influence here.

He’d show real leadership by putting sanctions on the Saudis. Our relationship with that country is pretty sickening, and I remember when this was a dealbreaker when it came to Hillary for many Trump voters on this site.

And you'd show real patriotism by putting your hatred of Trump aside in favor of love for your country and family if you have one. You obviously hate Trump more than you love the country that gives you the right to express insanity. Again you must not have any family or children who have to live here or you could give a shite about their welfare.

The title of this thread if Trump had instead told the Saudi king to hold the Crown Prince responsible for the murder or else the USA would impose sanctions:

Pres Trump showed real leadership in reassuring the world of our commitment to human rights

Iran is vastly more Western in terms of basic values and human rights, than any of our Arab partners.

And our issues have less to do with the specific nature of the government, than they do with Irans efforts to carve out a Persian sphere.

Even if there was a revolution, the next government would undoubtedly pursue a similar foreign policy.

Their policies are driven by their interests. And those interests won’t change.

I gotta say, looks like he’s bowing down to the Saudis. Just like every President before him did.

Never going to happen.

It would mean the end of the royal family. They would be surrendering their legitimacy, and with it their authority to watch over Mecca.

Pretty much what it comes down too, yeah. Compared to the alternative he absolutely did the pragmatic and right thing.

I’m not going to deal with the fricking Saudis. They kill rape victims, apostates, and gays, and have terrorized women for centuries. The fact that I love my family and what my country stands for is why it would be heroic for Trump to tell them to frick off.

No, I don’t, you room temperature IQ hack.

A major reason I want to invest in alternate energy is to starve the Saudis. That country is just so despicable.

So is there a line the Saudis can cross to where we would need to retaliate or do they get a free pass in anything they do because of Iran?
