The Netherlands used to be a colonial power.... they are now using their history to improve their soccer team...
All my grandparents and my mom were born in the Netherlands. If they were alive, I am sure they would be puzzled lol

They could be like Ernie Stewart who played for the US. Grew up in the Netherlands and was the product of a Dutch mother and US servicemen and had been playing professionally for the Dutch
Some may be from the Dutch Antilles like Aruba. Curacao or Bonaire and have been Dutch for generations

The captain in the back (the tall guy) who is not the goalie is named Virgil van Dijk. He is at least half Dutch probably.

This Dutch guy is one of the best ever. Johan Cruyff was an absolute legend.
