Um no... sorry papa

quote:

But he insisted the Church should not be judged by modern standards because attitudes towards abuse, which he said happens not just in the Church but in society generally, have changed dramatically over the years.

quote:

'In olden times, these things were covered up, they were even covered up in homes, when an uncle raped a niece, when a father raped his children,' he said. 'It was covered up because it was an enormous shame. That was the mentality in the last century.

quote:

damning report released in Germany on Tuesday showing that almost 3,700 minors - mostly boys - were assaulted between 1946 and 2014.

Who knew olden times stopped apparently in 2014. Come to think of it, i remember back in 2011 when priests could just rape little boys and it was just considered “boys will be boys” anctics.

With this logic, i guess we should also stop hunting old nazis as times were different back then. Oh and while we are at it, free Bill Cosby because back in the day date rape drugs were alright to use.

Sorry, but in reality there should be a a brave federal prosecutor- maybe PA- that brings forth RICO charges to a grand jury for bishops and church heirarchy moving priests from one locale to another after allegations of sexual abuse. These higher ups were no better than a child sex trafficking ring the Feds are always so proud to take down.

This pope needs to shut his mouth.

He considers the 80s and 90s "olden times"? W

Wasn’t the old way to handle this to have someone go on a hunting trip and die in an “accident”?

Wow.

You can’t blame us for covering up child sex abuse because other people did the same thing.

This pope is turning out to be a disaster.

But because his politics are the correct ones, the MSM doesn’t believe his victims.

The Pope not only needs to shut his mouth, but do the right thing abs step aside.

Jesus Christ. With statements like that, it sounds as if he’s trying to rationalize his own diddling of little boys.

And for this reason, the Pope had best not defend the indefensible. He should follow His own Rules...confession, repentance and righteous action.

It's really about Homosexuality, and the Church's stance therein. That is a hot potato I doubt that He can hold.

Look at who he covered for in South America.

He may not have diddled kids himself but he sure seems dedicated to keeping his diaper sniper buddies out of trouble.

I'm Catholic and can't stand this pope. I've had open dialogue with my parents about it and they are a bit more blind followers of the faith.

I know Benedict wasn't popular, but I'd rather have that guy back.

I can't begin to tell you how many liberal catholics adore this guy. Papa Frank! Pope Frank! This was during his first few years as a pope. They "loved" how he was hip and more modern.
