If there is a God, i.e., the God of the Bible, then innocent blood shed by man does not allow us to do nothing. And if there is no God, then by what standard is murder even wrong to begin with?

The Bible principle of evidence is well established in Scripture (see for example, Num. 35:30; Dt. 19:15). I don't think any believers in Jesus who post on PT are advocating for punishment without substantiated evidence.

My (many) sins have already been expiated and propitiated through Christ's once for all sacrifice.

From one of my many Bibles, "He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Jesus is Wonderful!

Luther included the deuterocanonical books in his German translation of the Bible.

Learn some history (yes, I know that is ironical).

That’s a pretty bad parallel to draw.

Look at the ancient Church and what they believed. It was very clearly Catholic/Orthodox.

Yes. Don't give a fat rats arse about a pope. The pope needs to keep his priest in line and away from little boys.

Please tell us where in The Bible legal execution is a sin, and where purposely killing babies in the womb isn't.

I’m not a theological scholar, but one of the Ten Commandments specifically states “thou shall not kill”. Just because it’s legal doesn’t make it okay.

The father at the church I go to made this his whole homily yesterday. Surprising because historically they usually shy away from the politics.

I’ll still go back next Saturday.

The Pope is pro-life? Shocking.

A) making up your own definitions of well-accepted terms is a hallmark of totalitarian control

B) And shocking that the man the cult of apostates placed in a position of authority over Scripture would distort it to fit his own flesh and worldview.

Would Pope Leo condemn violent defense of the Vatican and Himself if the hoards attacked the walls and doors? He's a hypocrite behind walls with guns while the rest of society becomes fair game for heathen rogues.

How much violent crime is in North Korea and China? Real and painful Justice works to protect the innocent. The delayed and 'compassionate' version to the guilty, not so much for the innocent.

Not parallels, parables.

Not that Leo would know the difference.

But there is a difference between parables and fables:

Human Characters: Unlike fables, which often feature talking animals or magical elements, parables use realistic human scenarios and natural settings
