quote:

“The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person,” Leo, who is the first pope from the United States, wrote on X on Saturday.

“The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption.”

Leo needs to reread the Gospels. After Jesus forgave the thief being crucified next to Him, He didn't order the guards to take him down and set him free. He allowed for the sentence of the State to be carried out.

He an idiot.

His parallels are ridiculous and aren’t remotely the same argument. Logically or morally.

Dumbass.

The irony of saying all the hypocritical sht the papacy spews behind iron gates and guards while surrounded by untold wealth. Stfu.

1) This "Pope" sure has a knack of weighing in on all things Trump, doesn't he? Of course, he's nothing but a Globalist puppet who was installed to do just what he's been doing.

2) He has the same take on this as Hildabeast. They should just make her the "Pope" and admit that the Vatican no longer has anything to do with the Christian religion.

Yall do understand he has to be careful with his words right?

Catholism has always been about peace, love, works and forgiveness.

Also, did he clear this with the WNBA?

This is the best you could come up with?

You have such a deep understanding of the issue.

Why would anyone be upset that the Pope is upholding Catholic doctrine?

You prots really should spend less time worrying about the Pope and more time getting your pastors to stop cheating on their wives before murdering them.

I am a Roman Catholic. My pastors cannot marry (another topic for another day). I have every right to criticize the head of the Church when he says stupid shite not supported by Scripture.

Catholics are pro-life from conception to natural death. Picking and choosing which Catholic doctrine you find palatable is you not actually being Catholic.

Because they are not Catholic. It’s really that simple.

Then the ones that are Catholic that are vehemently opposed to the Pope don’t even attend mass regularly.

Catholics believe in peace and 100% believe people can be saved.

It’s kind of embarrassing this is an argument. The Pope made a comment but the pope doesn’t rule the US so his comment doesn’t hold any authority yet you’ll have droves of people here today bashing the pope being a peaceful person.

Ultimately, it’s the people’s hatred of their unknowing savior, the Catholic Church. You’ll see.

Once again he swings and misses.

Jesus message is for individuals not governments.

Our God is a god of the individual.
