No details as to what's up, but his health has been shaky for the last couple of years.

All because of climate change .

I am catholic (converted) and have several discussions about this pope with a priest amd a couple deacons. They all said we should pray for the pope and pray for ourselves to better understand the teachings of the church. Without saying it, I got the impression all the leaders of my church wouldn't be upset if the pope went and spent some time talking to st. Peter

Is it wrong for me to hope he's soon replaced by an ultra conservative from Africa?

would be a blessing for catholics, if he fell asleep for good.

It's debatable he will see the pearly gates upon arrival.

Then maybe the Pope needs to stick to the teachings of Christ without inserting politics into those teachings.

If you currently look up the Saint Malachi prophecy of the last Pope before Roma falls and an antiPope. Last Pope "Peter The Roman"

It seems wikipedia and a lot of publications are calling it fiction.

Saint Malachi prophecy

I have often thought about that since Pope Francis has been in office and wondered if he is "Peter the Roman".

Anyone not from Europe would be good. Too many of those Europeans bishops have gone completely overboard trying to normalize behavior that should never be normalized by the church.
