This is just one more reason why anybody with half-a-brain should be glad that Donald Trump came along in 2016. With very few exceptions, the corrupt system has always chosen our candidates for us.
2016 was supposed to be no exception. The Establishment had 2016 set up to be a general election between two more Establishment hacks. Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush. And no matter which one won, the corrupt Political Establishment was going to keep on flowing like the Mississippi River.
But a brash billionaire businessman from NYC who had never even ran for dog catcher came along and upset the apple cart. American politics has never been the same since.
The only question? Will the winner of the 2028 Presidential election be more like Trump, or will we return to business as usual?

AOC could win over a lot of voters with her goals for space exploration. Forget the moon or Mars, AOC wants us to land on the sun, noting we just have to go at night.

Just for the record, I don't think AOC has much of a chance of winning the Democrat Party nomination in 2028. Why? Because even by their standards, I think she will slip and fall in the debates. Much like Kamala Harris did in 2020. Harris started out polling at around 15% simply because she was a Senator from California, but she did very poorly in the debates and ended up dropping out of the race even before the voting startrd.
One difference between Kamala and AOC, though. Kamala is also a very boring campaigner. OTOH, AOC is somewhat attractive and has some charisma. She's about as deep as a mud puddle, but she can camouflage that while giving speeches that other people have written for her.
But still, I think she'll be exposed in the debates.

I don't know. It would be hard to debate her without unintentionally embarassing and humiliating her. Media would spin Vance's overwhelming victory as him being "arrogant and unnecessarily mean".

if they do it is a tell that they are in deep disarray. I am not even pooping on AOC as an idiot or such. I am simply saying if her resume is the best they have then they have nothing.
What I would be afraid of is if she did get the nomination it would just be to be the puppet for another Obama term like Biden was. No way Biden was making any decisions in the WH. AOC would not be either and we would be back to the faceless cabal running the USA and the world.
