At least he isn't over the top with it like a lot of them are. His quoted comments in the OP are above board, imo. He is free to not like Trump and that's all it is, in my eyes, so long as he doesn't start trying to hit below the belt. And what I mean by this is it won't affect my appreciation for his art in the least. The man is an incredible musician.
I agree. Love his music and personality. Not a fan of his politics.

The great majority of his fans are Gen X. I am one of them. I loved his music through school. I still love his music. That does not mean I cannot dislike his views
Right. But again...what is he losing here personally? Do you really think some 75 year old musician is worried that some of his fans don't like his views?

He is going against the majority of his fans. Will it affect him monetarily? Nope. Will it change my thoughts of him personally? Yep. Still a great musical talent that has TDS just like the rest of them.
In other words he isn't throwing anything away.

If people obsessed over the personal beliefs of musicians they'd likely never listen to music
I just accept that most musicians and artists in general are probably going to have different views than I do. That doesn't mean I can't enjoy their work.

Just keep in mind, it’s October. Leftists have all their knives out right now. And their only common argument is OMB.

I like Phil
Interesting tidbit about him.
In the 1980s (from 1980-1989) nobody's voice was heard more in media than Phil's. .... TV, purchased physical media and radio.

Trump's opinion of Collins is no more relevant than Collins' opinion of Trump

It's funny how the same people who make fun of the left for cancel culture have the exact same mindset.
Oh no, they didn't think the right way!!
I'm gonna keep jamming it.

They won't get it even after you pointed it out sadly

Trump has never made any comments about Collins and I hope they don't ask him to. It would be a bit silly for him to trot out his usual, "this guy is a frickin' bum, no talent loser" thing he usually does in these situations.

I dont care anymore what Phil says.

It's completely stupid so you can probably expect him to do it

If you get that fixed maybe you can make a real argument.

The music business and Hollywood are kissing cousins. 85% of them think with the same brain. A lot of them are simply pretty ignorant outside of their area of expertise. I'm convinced that some of them know better, but they are afraid to disagree with either the hive mentality which exists inside the Hollywood Bubble, or the music world, either.
I mean, did anybody really believe Will Ferrell when he said that Kamala Harris was a great candidate and would be a great President? Does anybody really think that he's that dumb?

Last I heard, he couldn't care anymore.
Just STFU and sing, Phil. If you still can.

The Genesis rocker, 74, opened up about his health woes that forced him into retirement in a new interview with MOJO magazine.
“I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens. But I’m not hungry for it anymore,” Collins shared. “The thing is, I’ve been sick. I mean very sick.”
