Was thinking the same.
You have to think Trump is steps ahead of Graham tries something.

Why doesn't Graham lead the charge and get Congress to declare war outright in the legal/constitutional way?

Whelp, let's pass it and see. I kind of need to see Trump veto Ukraine funding.

Money!! They want money.

Guys the veto proof bill doesn't exist. It's an invention to avoid the below, which would impair Trump's leverage with Putin: "Congress is going to do it, Vlad" "Well you can veto it, Don"
Hopefully this is the scenario. I still think Graham is up to something. Although Dick did tell Z he has “cards” with congress.

I don't think Trump's leverage matters because I don't think Putin's going to fold. Russia sees this matter as NATO aggression, as many nations would under similar circumstances. Does anyone think that China would back down if Taiwan was making plans to join a western military alliance? More likely they'd invade immediately.
There's a good chance that NATO's dalliance with Ukraine eventually turns into a worst case scenario. But even if that doesn't happen, just paying for it would be a worst case scenario for the US, because our debt is at a tipping point. We're borrowing over a trillion dollars a year just for interest expense, rising rapidly, and wars are the worst "investment" of all.

I think Trump got into office, heard the IC reports/etc. and became convinced that handing Russia a clear cut win was bad. - I think Trump, despite his bluster, doesn't want to be the guy who "abandons" Ukraine and allows Russia to score a win over a country the US has propped up. - I think Trump knows that unfortunately there are some Ukraine-obsessed people in the party and in addition to the above, "abandonment" would screw up other elements of his agenda in what is going to be a very limited time period to work within.
This was always the reality of the situation…
Once Zelensky refused to wave the white flag in the Oval Office…. And Putin kept ignoring Trump… Reality slapped him in the face.

I get the feeling this is why not a ton of stuff has come out from the FBI and wham Bam Pam.
Maybe Trump is setting things up for a massive October surprise?
We all know ow how fast things get pushed to the side in today's media. He may want to drop a bunch of stuff when it'll make the most impact

Its glaringly obvious, until we the people vote for better congressional representation, nothing will change and our nation will continue to crumble.
Trump being elected only slowed down the crumbling.
Down vote all you want, this is the bottom line.
The entire fricked off federal government debacle is the fault of the voters.
Americans have become too spoiled and too ignorant., and here are.

I think trump has cooked the Republican Party
No resolution on Ukraine
Funding for Ukraine
Huge bill with pork spending
No doge cuts
No criminal action/ arrests
Messy executive orders allowing courts to handcuff
There are other issues - his success is illegal immigration but even that is moving slowly.
Congress will do nothing all summer and take long thanksgiving and Christmas breaks and then it's campaign season.
I'm disappointed that my hopes for a few things to be accomplished are going down the drain and the fear is nothing by election time and the further decline of the country.

What metrics would you utilize to rate our country? GDP? Freedoms? Number of trans?
While we can definitely argue that semantics of each, there is no denying the US is and has been the top country in the world for some time.

While this is not all Trump's fault, I agree the trend is not heartwarming. He's done what the courts allowed on immigration. Judges were going to step all over those executive orders no matter how they were written. They've blatantly ignored both the letter of the law and preceding supreme court interpretation (e.g., alien enemies act). Unless the SC quickly lets the president use his legal immigration authority, including due process limited to brief immigration hearings, we'll never fix that problem. DOGE cuts were likewise challenged at every turn, and Congress has done nothing to help.
Even tariffs have been attacked by the media, Congress, courts, Wall St., none of whom is willing to admit (or aware) that we do face an economic emergency and trade deficits are a component of that. I wish Trump would stick to his guns on tariffs even though he'd face retribution from trading "partners" holding a bond and currency market club (which only gets bigger as we continue to ignore the problem) over our head.
Continuing to finance Ukraine's war would be a definite confidence breaker for me. Like I said above, I'd like to see Trump veto their attempts and light a bonfire under the Republicans if they overturn. I haven't even looked at the budget bill; just gonna wait til something passes, but it doesn't sound encouraging.

They may be able to send money. Anything DOD related reports to the CinC and he can tell them to pound sand.

The problem is, cutting funding would not be possible from the previous bills, they were approved by congress.
And a lot of these weapsons have not shipped because they were not made yet, they will still be getting weapons til 2027.
This new funding would ensure ukraine will run out of men before weapons.
And I still dont understand what more Russia has to do to "come to the table".
Agree with zelensky to pay reparations? Agree to withdraw from all territories including Crimea? Agree to them joining NATO? All these are nonstarters if anyone with a brain was running Russia.
And using the US taxpayer as a pawn is bullshite. We are gonna fck up the BBB all over fcking ukraine so some senators can make bank.

We need stronger party leadership for the new party
We haven’t had sufficient turnover OR meaningful action to claim “a new party.” I bet you 75% of Republican congressman as well as their families did not vote for Trump.
