People complaining about increased electric bill cost

How much of this is related to stopping building gas and coal power plants and trying to force the shift

Not as much as you’d like to believe…

A lot of it has to do with ai costs

Our electric company has already said that increases are cost capture for green efforts. Sadly, it's the only choice I have in Tampa.

A lot of it has to do with people just not realizing what they can do to cut down on their costs.

Cost per KW is increasing because of the "green" scam. How many KW you choose to use is irrelevant to the conversation.

AI is a huge drain on the power grid. The more data centers they install, the more your electric bill will increase.
Posted on 10/2/25 at 9:29 am to ItTakesAThief
One dirty secret, these data centers are driving up energy costs for everyone.
Posted on 10/2/25 at 9:31 am to ItTakesAThief
Data centers, EV, abnormally hot and long summer, on top of over-investment in 'green' energy.
It didn't have to be this way but people in the 70s hadn't learned to ignore batshit actresses trying to ruin civilization

We should probably be discussing this more.
Posted on 10/2/25 at 9:33 am to ItTakesAThief
A lot of recent increases are due to amount of energy sold to AI type players who use vast quantities. Capitalism at play- supply vs demand

I paid for wood poles to be replaced with slightly taller wood poles and to have traffic disrupted.

I mentioned a You Tube from last week, Triggernometry. Konstantin Kisin interviews a guest who explains in detail how green energy has exploded the cost of electricity in England.

increased demand overall with not alot of new supply is the real issue.
solar plants can be built alot faster than gas can.
we SHOULD build more nuclear but people are too afraid of it.
the company i work for is nuclear, gas, solar and wind.
So.we need more gas solar and wind, i know alot here dont like "green" tech but it works and will help suppliment demand while we get more gas online. gas turbines are 5 to 8 years on delivery due to demand.

Supply and demand. Even works with utilities. In short… a lot.
My power comes from Browns Ferry Nuke plant and it’s fairly priced and the price is stable.
On the flip side, what’s the price doing in leftist areas that have to run solar and wind to save the planet? Stable? Low cost?

Really? Even with blue states being 9 of the 10 most expensive states for electricity? And blue states paying on average 37% more for electric power?
I’m suuuuuuuuuuuure that’s just coincidence.

Double electric bill. Was told in general AI stealing from the grid. Also letters went out over the summer to tell customers to hang clothes on clothes line.
Even with downy nice bed sheets how does one do this in the winter in yankeeville?
Trump admin puts $625M toward keeping coal plants open, lower energy costs
