People sharing their pics of empty store shelves and where they are.

How long until Twatter censors and erases or at least throttles it down?

Was in target today in Gainesville. More empty shelves than I have ever seen.

It's everywhere. I was in Publix today, and while not nearly as bare as those I've seen trending on #BareShelvesBiden, there continue to be gaps all around the store. Every Publix, and the few Kroger stores I accidentally find myself in.

It'll at least be attributed to the unvaccinated, then it will be taken down

I hate censorship but if we have a social media driven panic on food like we did with toilet paper it’s gonna be bad

Our Publix here in Woodstock has been out of Tostitos (the plain) and Fritos for about a month now.

Yesterday they were out of all bread but Publix brand and all eggs but the fancy expensive brown organic ones.

Just got back from the store. Lots of empty spaces. Had to go to 3 stores and still didn’t complete my list.

I live by a major ocean and shipping port. I am sure it will hit soon.

From all the pics on Poso's page the shelves are already empty, so at least we are getting a heads up. No one can panic buy when the shelves are bare but it seems as if many hoarded. It's a free country still.

I used to say what you are but I DGAF anymore it can't hurt to prepare.

The smart ones are the ones that live rural and have chickens. Eggs are protein. I will be canning some more and will have a basement.

Stores are always more empty than normal on Sunday. Tomorrow should be better

I’d hate to live in a city

Today, I went to 3 grocery stores (a weekly event) and the shelves were emptier than I’ve seen before. The true scope of the problem is disguised by stores filling empty spots with random stuff.

Have to plot your visit better.

Have to understand the stocking cycle of Publix. For your specific stores. Have to talk to the stockers and find out what their cycles are.

I kid one of the stockers I always kid about fronting the shelves...I tell her every time I see her "I don't know why you do this, I come in behind you and push everything back."

She and her husband were out for dinner
and I walked past, not wanting to interrupt her, she stopped me and told her husband about me kidding her all the time. Very nice couple. I know most of the check out girls.

It's the Sales Manager in me.

Cream Cheese is down because of manufacturing issues. Not waiting on a slow boat from China.

Kellogg's just settled their strike ....they'll be stocked again soon.

Crackers were gone last weekend due to the rush for all things related to the snow. By Tuesday, the first stocking filled some of the holes.

Tonight bread and dairy was in short supply. Typical considering the weekend mob. Both will be stocked fully by Tuesday. Meat is always stocked ...Milk always ...

Our local suppliers are keeping up with chips with no problems. Soda Pop aisle is always filled except when the local Pepsi distributor has a can or manufacturing shortage.

If you're not already prepared with a stockpile of canned goods and dried foods like rices and noodles as well as protiens like tuna and potted meats, etc. that keep for long periods of time and are very versatile in food preparation, then it's probably too late to start... at least until which time a competent administration without head-in-arse comes in and actually fixes the root causes of the supply chain crisis.

Is it really an issue? Toilet paper was toilet paper. It was just one thing. Plus they have the added extra problem of not being able to divert commercial rolls for residential . It was a baked in problem. But with all sorts of different choices and styles of food, I don’t see how that would end up as bad. There are a lot more players in that game and if they all get hit, there’s still enough suppliers out there to keep the products flowing. You may not get everything we want, but we should be able to get a steady supply of some thing.

It’s like the Y2K problem. Those people who really rely on this stuff will figure out a way.

Yes, I am wearing rose-colored glasses. Why do you ask?
