Think about it; do you believe that the establishment would roll out the internet if they didn't already know how to control it?

Depends on who you are trying to keep it private from. NSA? Good luck. From google? Sure, don't use Google products.

Yes, because it is clearly damaging them.

My default is now DuckDuckGo. However, for some subjects I have to return to Google.

Hopefully DuckDuckGo will make a phone operating system and improve their searches.

But, by then, they will go all progtard too.

You remind me of one of those guys who was stunned when he discovered that the NSA listens to all your phone calls.

It's been happening forever.

And will always happen.

i'm fully aware. hence I took 15minutes to figure out how to protect myself.

for example, I buy android phones that I can unlock and install a custom OS on. there are many groups out there purging the invasive code google uses and you don't have to run any google apps.

Sadly you cannot do this with apple devices.

The NSA has full access to your phone calls. That is not the same as data. You can encrypt data. You have no control over voice transmissions unless you are able to move fully to wifi calling. In that case you can encrypt your voice calls too.

It looks like it's more linearly over the last couple years, about 3% per month on average.

How long before they start blackmailing all the people who thought their searches were private?

Based on the growth rates it appears that there is more growth opportunity in keeping things private.

I use DuckDuckGo as my primary search engine.

The results aren't as good but I get by.

Google is just that horrible a company.

Good.

We need more competition to break up the monopoly neb-liberals have on the tech industry and their complete politicization of it.

No it's not. Exponential growth in non-linear, while multiplicative (geometric) growth is linear because it's a constant rate of change. You can represent it as multiplication, but the rate of change would not be constant.

Edit: Inexcusably false on my part, but I'll leave my stupidity for all to see.
