I believe the special counsel opened this door through his press conference when he announced the indictments. He went beyond the facts of the indictments and attempted to tie Trump's actions to the J6 Capital events. Can't imply his indictment is about x and then not allow the defense to argue against x.

Nothing that was said at the press conference is relevant at trial.
The indictment is the indictment. Jack Smith's press conference announcing the indictment will not be a subject of the trial.
Besides, let's pretend that Pelosi is called. Who's going to refute her testimony? They are 100% not putting Trump on the stand.

You guys have got to start living in reality. This judge isn't going to allow anything like that to happen. She's going to rule for the government on everything relating to what evidence comes in, or not. No one is going to (or can) remove the judge from the case, either. There is no "boom" moment coming, this is not the WWE.
Trump's best hope is that the Supreme Court somehow intervenes to stop the prosecution, but I doubt they will.

The indictment specifically talks about Trump instigated people to disrupt the proceedings.
Kinda like blaming bank security for a bank robbery.
