Josh Hawley's Bill to stop politicians from trading stocks/insider trading is going to get shut down. Hawley hooked up with Democrats who wants the Executive branch to be included in order to get Trump. Trump has already signaled that he would veto the bill if the executive branch is included in the bill. The bill not only stops politicians from trading stocks, but to also not be able to profit from a business while you are in office.

I like how we're just casually pretending that there wasn't insider trading with the trade wars.

Historically speaking, Nancy and her husband are top 5 traders in American history when looking at success rate. They just kill it.

Ha. Keep slaving away middle class, joe.

You would think she would take some of that money and hire her husband a damn driver.

I guess having Nancy as a wife was enough to make her husband seek a gay lover.

Might be the first time I've agreed with democrats. Zero reason that the executive branch should be exempt from insider trading if a ban is going to actually be put on congress. It should be a comprehensive, government wide approach.

I can see no insider trading applying to all, but the part about not profiting from your own business while in office - does that mean you have to sell your business to become a congressman? Shut down your law practice or your coffee shop or whatever you do, vs let someone continue it while you’re in office? Or should you only favor policies that are bad for business…?!?

Isn’t it actually legal for them to do it?

Oh my god there are many. Here’s one but it’s rampant. The GOP lead SEC isn’t going after anyone for anything.

There is zero evidence that Pelosi has engaged in insider trading.

What Pelosi did (while bad) compared to what we’re seeing now in this administration is peanuts. Anybody unwilling to acknowledge that difference is deeply unserious about insider trading.

Put one of Elon's savants on it, and toss the guilty party. And if the technically guilty party is just a stand-in for a politician, go after both of them.

I think most reasonable people agree but I doubt that happens.

My prediction(s), next time Dems flip house the investigations will start (all of these trades are well documented) and we’re going for see a lot of pardons from Trump (more pay for play as well).

Hawley sees what’s happening and is trying to get on the right side of this thing before it’s too late. The paper trail will be long and undeniable.

It's infuriating but this will never end.

"Based" GOPe stooges will always propose legislation and laws that would prevent members of Congress from buying, selling and trading stocks.... BUT- you never once see them propose barring the SPOUSES of said politicians from doing it.

So basically, maybe they eventually pass a law but then someone like Pelosi just says, "Hey Paul, get that dick out of your butt for a minute and pick up a thousand shares of Honeywell before it soars."

It's no secret that all of Congress operates on pork kickbacks in spending bills, insider trading and the bad-behavior slush fund. Look at how much money Eyepatch McNoname and Jasmine Felisha Crockett have amassed via stocks during their relatively short tenures.

Bring it to a vote and see who does what.

If that vote gets blocked, you know who to blame.
