Also... 12-2021
We don't have a large presence there, but if Joe is really wanting to force a conflict he'll start quietly sending even more over there. A force of ~100 members of the US Armed Forces being killed during a Chinese invasion of Taiwan would go a long way toward creating political and popular support for war (if the media is down with it as well).

TAIPEI, TAIWAN —
The United States has doubled its unofficial military presence in Taiwan over the past year in what specialists describe as the latest signal to China that Taiwan's future remains a priority.
The increase from 20 personnel to 39 between December 31 and September 30 came with little fanfare, but it did coincide with a rare public acknowledgement by President Tsai Ing-wen in October that the U.S. military maintains a small presence in Taiwan.
Active-duty deployments now include 29 Marines as well as two service members from the Army, three from the Navy and five from the Air Force, according to the Pentagon's Defense Manpower Data Center.

TAIPEI, Aug 3 (Reuters) - U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi left Taiwan on Wednesday after pledging solidarity and hailing its democracy, leaving a trail of Chinese anger over her brief visit to the self-ruled island that Beijing claims as its own.
China demonstrated its outrage over the highest-level U.S. visit to the island in 25 years with a burst of military activity in surrounding waters, summoning the U.S. ambassador in Beijing and halting several agricultural imports from Taiwan.
Say what you want, but with her actions she at least stood up to China a bit.

Or she planned it with them to take the heat off of she and her husband.

Yeah I hate that bitch.
But I'm also not going to be a hypocrite and trash her for standing up to China running their mouth.
I hate China more than I hate Nancy. For once she actually showed leadership.

China had previously announced that it would be conducting live fire drills including in areas claimed by Taiwan as its territorial waters.
And Chinese fighter jets enter into Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone practically every day.
But nothing like fear porn to drive up ratings

Is Pelosi still there? At least one situation could be resolved to our satisfaction then.

Nothing about her visit changed anything with China. In fact that’s my biggest criticism of it. It was a totally meaningless waste of money. They’ll throw their usual tantrum and be done with it. It gained neither the US nor Taiwan any tangible benefit.
Her and her husband’s blatant domestic corruption is far more significant.
