On the ruling yesterday.
Is this something Roberts could have done?

I believe it. They were trying to run the clock out. Why he didn't vote with the minority, I have no idea.

Roberts is an all time POS in the history of this country.
He doesnt get enough hate.

I'm not disputing this, but if true, why didn't they drag it out longer?
Are there set amounts of time allowed?

According to Mollie Hemingway's recently released book on Alito, Kagan did the same thing for the Dobbs release, even though she knew justices were being threatened. In fact the dissenting justices put a reference to the NY State Gun Club ruling in their dissent, knowing that would force the court to release the Dobbs decision last. The whole spirit of congeniality and collegiality of the court has been destroyed by the politics of Kagan, Sotomayor, and Brown.

Leftism is, at its core, a violent revolutionary movement. How can you be collegial with that?

I read where this has happened before in the Dobbs. Once the court leak occurred Alito was determined to get the opinion released. Kagan drug her feet until Roberts put her on a deadline. She then added a footnote referencing a case that had not been release yet, thus delaying the release until the footnote case was released.

Kagan, . Yep
Sotomayor, . Yep
and Brown.. Nope. Just too dumb to recognize the dynamic. Hers is reflexive stupidity and the belief that the more she talks the more people think she’s bright

The host said they knew the vote was 6-3 for months. It wasn’t really a secret, but Roberts could have released and told Kagan to suck it if she was intentionally dragged this out. Especially if she’s done it before.

quote:I don't disagree, but in the context of the court, even Scalia and Ginsberg, on opposite sides of the spectrum, had deep personal affection and respect for each other and were friends. The three leftists on the court now are just nasty people. Even Ginsberg had the intellectual honesty to acknowledge that Roe v Wade was a horrible ruling from a legal standpoint. I can't imagine any of these people doing something like that.

If Amy would have made it 4-4..he certainly would have flipped. If it is 5-3 he plays it safe.

Keep in mind that they dragged this out while the conservative Justices were, and still are, under threats of violence. It was a really sh*tty thing to do.

"Brown.......too dumb..." I caught Senator Kennedy's committee confirmation hearing on her & post hearing, he said, off the record, that she was the dumbest judicial candidate he had ever questioned. He asked her 3 ABC-like legal questions & she could not answer any of them. Yet she is there for life.
