If this was any other president this would be cause for impeachment.

quote:

In a series of phone calls, one broker after another bragged about their close relationships to President Trump's inner circle.

This duo replied to Ammon's email with seven minutes.

Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl are Trump loyalists with a long resume of political stunts. Their robocall scheme to suppress Black voting in 2020 led to a criminal conviction. Now in the pardons game, they claim they got one for this owner of a nursing home chain, convicted of massive tax fraud. He paid them nearly a million dollars for their promise to reach the president. We found that some brokers charge as much as $3 million. So we decided to use hidden cameras and sent the Covinos to meet Burkman and Wohl.

The Clinton Foundation received a donation in excess of 1 million, every time Bill's pen touched a pardon...
And some of those were known terrorists, or enemies of the state.

Yes, this is also corruption. It all is. Just because some other scumbag did it doesn’t mean it’s right for someone else to.

Yes. Agreed.
But if one guy is gonna get called out for it. When the article mentioned isn't even about him... Then the others who have done it, , who were directly involved, should too.

Fair is fair.

There once was a man who could not spell.

He new this about himself, but it did not bother him. Whenever he came to a word he was unsure of, he simply gave it his best shot and moved foreward.

One day, a scholar saw the man's writing and laughed.

"You have spelled three words incorrectly in a single paragraph," said the scholar. "How can anyone take you seriously?"

The man thought for a moment.

Then he asked, "Did you understand what I ment?"

"Of course," replied the scholar.

"Then the words have done there job."

The scholar shook his head. "But proper spelling is important."

"I agree," said the man. "That is why I always try to spell things write."

And from that day foreward, the scholar understood that some battles simply could not be one.

Pardons

An actual right of being the president.

Here let spell it out for you

The U.S. President can grant pardons for federal crimes at any time, except in cases of impeachment, with broad discretion and minimal procedural restrictions.
Constitutional Basis
The presidential pardon power is granted by Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, which allows the president to “grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment”

. This authority is plenary, meaning it is largely unchecked by Congress or the judiciary

Any other President?

Dude, were you born this past Thursday? They've already drug President Trump thru two completely bogus impeachment trials. The corrupt Political Establishment has crapped on Trump 20X more than any other President in history.

What a bad faith article.

There was absolutely nothing in it that indicated the slightest shred of evidence of anything warranting impeachment.

No witnesses to any such behavior, no documentation indicating such behavior, nothing but, "We noticed that one guy who made a political donation got a pardon" and a bunch of innuendo, when all they know for sure (because there are a couple of them whom they interviewed who admitted it) is that there are brokers who take money to get word to the president—directly or through members of Congress or some other contact—that someone has applied for a pardon.

Which the article mentions several times, is not an illegal action. And no evidence of any of that money flowing to the president.

Matter of fact, your own article quotes someone as saying that Trump is difficult to get interested in signing these pardons.

What a nothingburger piece of dook that article was.

Where in this does it connect to Trump? Nowhere in the article did it show that anybody actually got a pardon through these people. All I see is conmen tricking people who have more money than brains.

So, why does your source (CBS News) never write about Democrat corruption?

Sounds like a scam some group is running that they say they can get you a pardon if you pay them. Trump or a Trump Foundation isn’t the one collecting the cash.

You pay them X and they say they have access to Trump to bring up your name, but no guarantees you get the pardon. Just one ad hoc sales pitch of: you heard about this nursing home owner, well we were able to get him a pardon.

Isn’t a Louisiana rapper trying to sue some group that promised the same sales pitch for a federal pardon he never got?

THIS.

I don't understand how Bill Clinton was able to speak in public after the Mark Rich bribe.

It's amusing for people to defend Trump as if he isn't receiving bribes. The crypto guy pardon is one of the most obvious.

ETA: This particular story doesn't show anything negative towards Trump.

Same Lesley Stahl who pretty sure is a crypt keeper and was the de facto fluffer in both Obama and Joe regimes?

Seems unbiased.

So she questions Ed Martin, who works with the DOJ to vet these possible pardons then she gets pissy because Trump doesn’t often go through said DOJ?

I’m no Trump apologist but she is a rancid old biased hag who thinks she got a gotcha bc some dumbass paid the wrong power broker.

I watched the piece last night....they did mention Clinton and Biden selling pardons as well. The point is the process has been corrupted and the Trump Administration is engaged in selling pardons as well.

Your post started as” if there was some other president “, then you followed up by suggesting you can’t compare it to another’s actions. Make it make sense?
