Overheard someone compare "All lives matter" to "Black lives matter"

Compared it to if one house was burning on a street and the fire department was to only say "all houses matter" instead of focusing on the one burning.
BTW, this was a white "higher up" guy at a company that spoke this on a conference call to all the employees.
I honestly think this comparison completely misses the point.

The problem is the house they think is burning, isn't.

I've heard similar analogies
Essentially saying black lives matter doesn't mean that other lives don't matter. It's that black lives are in the most danger.
The problem with that is black lives are in the most danger from other blacks and that is rarely if never addressed by the movement.

I understand the sentiment but at this point all the houses are on fire

Most of the houses that are burning are set on fire by their fellow residents

Oh, it's burning.
The problem is somebody IN the house started the fire

File a complaint saying he told the group that the black community is in flames and that you're offended

BLM is a racist and hypocritical statement.

Plenty of businesses being burned in the name of the movement. No businesses being burned/looted in the name of any other race.

What if the houses are continuously set ablaze by its own residents?

As someone who has recently started to identify as black, I’m appalled by this statement

A more apt comparison is people bitching at the fire department for not attending to the one house on fire on the right side of the street that was started by the neighbor while ignoring the entire left side of the street engulfed in flames that were started by the people doing the complaining.

This assumes that in regard to police brutality, one building is completely engulfed in flames while the others are in no danger. Which actual data doesn’t really support
I’ll readily admit that a black male my age is probably treated differently by police in a variety of situations. And that there are a lot cops that are any combination of racist, dumb, and POS. But the idea that they are being “hunted down” is asinine

Or if a guy was walking around setting fire to houses and screaming the fire department doesn't do enough to put out the random couple of fires he didnt start himself, but he starts the vast majority of fires himself to his own houses and blames everyone else for the fires he starts himself.
