So there's some magical account that any surplus monies from a potential trade deal go? And funds can be appropriated from this fund by the President to do whatever he wants?

No. Surplus trade doesn't even go to the govt. It goes to US companies.

Congress will not appropriate $20B for the wall. But keep taking Trump's word as gospel.

Would one of you nice people explain to me how this will work??

I would also be very interested to know how USMCA differs from NAFTA? We will see less traffic on I-10 because there will be fewer trucks hauling Mexican goods??

Thank you in advance for your specific and accurate responses.

So we will trade with Mexico and Trump will pay for the wall through tariffs?

News flash. It’s still our money.

Does the deal have specific new tariffs in it?

Thank you in advance.

I wish Roosevelt had used the public works powers during the Depression to build the wall.

A lot too late. You can't stop a burglary by inviting him into your kitchen for punch and pie.

With a wall there would be nothing stopping people from getting into the US. As you can see from this map, the red line represents an invisible force field that keeps people from getting across our border.

The left has no clue what paying for something indirectly even means.

Except for their parents and the government handout checks.

Yea all those attending those rallies were chanting knowing that Mexico would be paying through NAFTA changes

I was at a rally chanting, and I don't know a single person who expected a big giant check to be handed over. I personally expected a healthy tax on remittances, but this works for me too.

This talking point makes no sense by Trump

What money is “saved” through the new trade deal?

Under this mercantilist crap logic, I am a huge loser every I walk out of Costco because they took my money and I took the goods

Trump needs to understand that economic value is measured by goods and services, not dollars
Who hacked this account?

But liberals thought Mexico was going to cut us a check

So did Trump himself. He told Mexico's president not to fly here unless he was prepared to discuss exactly that.

Of course, Mexico's pres ordered the flight turned around and headed back to Mexico City.

The more money US companies make, the more they pay in income taxes.

Economics 101.

I guess I am a little dense---what does this have to do with Mexico paying for the wall?

Is there something specifically in the USCMA deal that will make US companies more money? and will we be able to tell what money was made from USCMA changes and what was not?
