They attacked us first 47 years ago and have been ever since.

Were you alive 47 years ago boom. Because if you weren't you have no idea.

People in this country lived every day knowing their country had been attacked and Carter sat their in the Oval Office afraid to do anything. We will never know what we truly gave away to get them released.

I remember it and i will never forget it. Never ever forget . Ever since that time this country has never truly dealt with the people who sponsored that event and it has haunted us ever since.

It emboldened them the past 47 years and now they have played us again unless we deal with them now while the resources are there and make the world a safer place for all countries who have to deal with them now.

Every one of our Military servicemen are heroes and only put their lives on the line in combat if is necessary . . The question i wonder about history is you cant know the outcome now.

Would it have been better to Confront Hitler sooner and prepare for Japan better knowing they were becoming a threat. Or do you let them kill until they are on your doorstep and its you in their target sights.

One way or another we are about to find out. Do we cower to the future or do we fight.

Why would we “have to deal with” the humanitarian situation were it to arise.

Don’t talk tough and then submit to taking care of people who hate you and your family?

We overthrew their democratic government in 1953 and installed a brutal dictator so that their oil could be taken by western forces. In 1979 they had a rebellion and they attacked the embassy of the country that installed that dictator.

They did not come to American and attack us or anything else. I don't want to see Americans held hostage and such, but I completely understand why they did it and don't find it to be irrational. I think we'd all react the same way.

This is a difficult, complex, and nuanced take that quite frankly, not a lot of people (esp on the right apparently) have the wherewithal to comprehend.

They start history at a convenient timeline that totally ignores the USA's frickery in meddling with other countries and the audacity of those people over there to be mad about it. But let Russia pass one submarine between the US and Cuba and they get mad af.

What they don't realize is all the time and energy that has gone into the ME in the last 25 years is a waste of time. They want to fight Iran over there, while Muslims are taking over back over here.

I was alive and as I already pointed out, we overthrew their democratic government in 1953 and installed a brutal dictator. 1979 was a rebellion against that government and the US embassy was attacked in that because the guy was our puppet.

Save me your dogma based on emotion and an extremely one sided view of things as if the attack was out of the blue when it wasn't.

You think fake news is a recent thing?
