Why not? It’s common knowledge that the Russians, Chinese, Iranians, North Koreans, etc. have the propaganda machine rolling, to undermine things in the west. British politicians and their media mouthpieces are trying to blame Putin for the backlash against mass 3rd world immigration. Putin is their scapegoat whenever information gets out that they didn’t want people to know.
The people who always blame Putin for their problems remind me a lot of the Arab dictators who constantly blame Israel for their own problems.
