I know the Democrats case was less than horse crap. I wanted the witnesses that would get to the bottom of the Democrat corruption. "Charlie" Ciaramella, Adam Shift, Hunter Biden, and dozen of other corrupt up to their eyeballs deep staters.

Unfortunately, he was a terrible President. And he was chewed up and spit out by DC denizens from both major political parties.
The best we can possibly hope for now is that whomever lies, cheats, backstabs and murders his or her way to the highest office in the land somehow manages not to screw us over in the process.
FTR, thus far despite all odds, Trump seems to not be screwing us over, at least most of us. Which puts him as the best POTUS since probably Ike.

It appears you are the one who lacks understanding. The House Dems already tried to do whatever they wanted in the house and have been trying to change precedent in the senate. Which would be dangerous for our country. The GOP in the senate is righting the wrong.
The Dems, when they regain power in the senate, house, presidency, will trample the constitution as Obama did, as the House currently did, and what the senate will do, and it won’t have anything to do with what the senate does here. No matter how many times they or you may say so.

The Senate is the jury so when in a trial has the jury been allowed to call witnesses? The House is supposed to acquire all the evidence and present to the Senate which is the jury.

Would you be ok with everything if it was a Democrat getting impeached like this? Because now the foundation has been laid any president that the opposing party don't like can be impeached. The Republicans could have easily done Obama this way.

To give into the democrats and give them witnesses would've been as disastrous as Jeff Sessions turning the investigation of Russian interference over to Rod. It is a tactic to stall for time the democrats need to try to turn public opinion. It is the right thing to cut this off at the knees right now. There is never any way to assuage the democrats. Before 2015, was he considered racist? No. Jesse Jackson and Oprah Winfrey loved the dude. So did the various athletes and celebrity rappers who had contact with him.
But now, because he had the audacity to step into the political pool, he's been called every name in the book- and this isn't by some fringe elements, it's by the mainstream Dem party (and a good number of Republicans too).
He's been able to tolerate a lot of that, but many others wouldn't.
Just think of what they'd call Bill Gates, Mark Cuban, etc. Because they, too, would be vilified from every angle.
