Not sure he was saying what he said in terms of it being one of those “If it saves one life” type of things. Pretty sure he said it as a father who had experienced a more painful loss than you or I likely ever have and out of pain and anger (justifiably so) just wants to see everyone connected with the death of his son burn in hell.
Some stuff I agree with you on and some i don’t. You have always come across to me as pretty decent fellow. But I think you are off on this one. Drugs wreak havoc on our country every year. Look at the strung out homeless people. Looks at the senseless deaths of so many of our loved ones. Yes, the people choosing to take drugs are culpable as well but I see nothing wrong with using the military to defend our country. This may not be a military threat but it is still a threat non the less.

Which is what we are doing with the war on drugs currently, and its not working. We currently give money to corrupt governments instead of paying the man himself. Never gets to its intended spot.
Would be cheaper to pay off the Cartels to work for us.

I believe the POTUS takes an oath to protect our country from enemies both foreign and domestic. I cannot think of a better example of domestic attack than that which is coming across our borders, aimed at our youth and weak adults who face drug addiction. To not support an effort to lessen the burden of drugs coming into this nation is ridiculous. I know of several families who have lost children and family members to these drugs.
