He really is a personable guy. I've met and conversated with him multiple times. I'm a decent judge of character and I truly believe he loves this country. How he is portrayed by the media is not how he really is behind closed doors. However he does himself no favors with twitter

That's a big flaw of the current model they use for Air Force One which is a 747-200 and 30+ years old. It can't fly non stop from DC to Tokyo or anywhere in Northern to Northeast Asia.
The 747-200 has a range of 7,800 miles. Range is a national security issue.
Meanwhile the 787 dreamliner has a range of 9,196 miles and the 777-200LR has a range of 9,395 miles. And both can easily fly non stop from DC to japan with plenty leftover to continue on to Seoul or Beijing.
No wonder they're getting rid of the -200 for the new 747-8 which is longer, more powerful and can fly a couple thousand miles longer.
