I'm not sure what I was incorrect about, as I only asked questions. Maybe I was asking the wrong questions.
Do you think there's a possibility that she wasn't really speaking to you? That she was speaking to people who think that America is of and for white people?

The problem is that her premise is shite.
Xenophobia is not a problem in this country, save for idiots like her convincing the stupid masses that it is.
People who base their political ideology on race, gender, and other innate biological characteristics are mentally weak. Every citizen in this country already has the exact same rights, regardless of race, gender or religion.
That’s the problem. She’s whipping ignorant minorities into a lather over a problem that does not exist.

Im hearing some shady things going on up that way. The mayor apparently has 3-4 councilmen that are shady, and why they want to add bacchus. Even trying to get one guy removed to try to put her in.
The short answer is Abbott's endorsement. I get that it's supposed to be a nonpartisan deal but I like Abbott a lot. And Bao's comments on keeping Plano suburban and limiting any new multiunit housing really spoke to me. I moved here for those reasons.
There's a PAC passing out some fliers opposing Bao. I didn't read it too closely (this was after I'd already voted at any rate) but it's stirring some people up. Now this thing with Omar too. There's a thread in Nextdoor with like 70 something replies about it. It's pretty funny. Some of the candidates in other races got in on the action

Although I support her overall political standings, this statement was stupid, pointed, ill-advised and definitely used to enflame folks. She knows better and its just sad because she kicks herself in the arse far too many times. She's gonna have to learn to be more savvy and not say false dumb shite like this.

But if we're doing mind-reading, then don't complain when people say "I know what you really mean" when you (or "your side") talk about Muslims or Confederate statues or immigrants or whatever. It's a double-edged sword when we try to construe every act we don't agree with as an act of evil.
