They also can't turn it off which is why they keep showing up everywhere, even on TD. When people are taught that everything is intrinsically political, everything they do becomes 'for the cause'. Everything becomes a battle that must be won. Their entire persona is just a conditioned reflex to 'win' said battles and they're incapable of stopping. It's almost pavlovian

They are academics. Their entire professional existence revolves around virtue signaling.
My wife works in academia although she had a career in the private sector first, so she is a rare exception.
Everything you have ever heard about academics living in ivory towers and being disconnected from the real world is true. They consider the real world beneath them. I'm not kidding.
