Imagine if WW2 had been paused for 8 months or 1 month, how many lives would have been saved?
WW2 is probably not the comparison to use here because that would have been 8 more months of concentration camps and countless wholly innocent, rather than combatant, lives lost.

It's no secret that they have a large quantity of enriched uranium. Most of the other components of a high yield weapon can be manufactured (or purchased) in advance, which reduces the time to produce a bomb to a period of weeks or months once a sufficient quantity of fissile material is available.

Actually, Tulsi Gabbard said that in testimony before Congress.
And then Trump said that we have "obliterated" their nuclear program.

Exactly.
But only when it furthers the narrative.

Why do you post things that are false? Are you this desperate to discredit the US war against Iran that you claim to support? Gabbard never said Iran "was not close to a bomb". What she said, in that March 2025 statement to Congress, was that they weren't currently building a bomb. And she also said, "Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile is at its highest levels and is unprecedented for a state without nuclear weapons." Which meant that once they started to assemble a bomb, or bombs, it could potentially be done in a few months, maybe even a few weeks.

Which was said to mislead Iran about US intentions. The original strike was to delay Iran's ability to assemble a bomb while the US and Israel planned and mobilized forces for a more definitive solution.

Ok, but why announce it? And why haven't they already done this if a nuke is their goal?

I don't think there will be any major developments on the military side with this conflict until Trump's trip to China is over.

They announce it to hold out the threat that they already have a weapon, or soon will. As for why they haven't built a nuclear weapon, Rubio explained that they were building up their conventional forces until nobody would stand up to stop them from assembling their nuclear arsenal.
And I would also add that they were possibly waiting to obtain missiles capable of reaching the US. They know if/when they ever deploy a nuke, or even a dirty bomb, in Israel or anywhere, the US will respond with no holds barred.

Rubio said that Epic Fury is over.
Dan Caine said that we won't retaliate further until Iran crosses a mysterious threshold that they haven't crossed yet, even though they have attacked a few US Navy ships.

If you think about it WW2 may be the best comparison.
It was the last time we fought against true fanatics in the pacific.
While I'm not advocating for us to glass iran, we need to go after the Iranians the same way we went against the Japanese.
Which is beat them completley into submission.
This ceasefire is a complete waste of time and, has accomplished absolutely nothing aside from extending the conflict.

When/if we attack again, I'd use the first 24 hours to attack personnel, not bridges and electricity. Make the first wave a surprise and attack the foreign troops in Tehran especially. Attack the IRGC, they shouldn't feel safe in a group anywhere.

No side is telling the truth during this whole thing.
It’s all manipulation and propaganda.

It doesn't matter. They are insane. They say hate us. They say they want us dead. They say they want to a nuke. That is all that matters. They have earned the toppling of their regime with just that.
If there is even a fraction of one percent chance that they could accomplish the goal of killing Americans (they already have), then they must go. They didn't need nukes when they killed over a 1000 in Israel (some where Americans).
They sponsor terrorism all over the world. Nuke or no nuke they have earned the bombs that fall on their heads.

Tired of all the headlines posted here being all about Iran attacking. I long for the days when it was an endless parade of post of the IRGC leaders and equipment being destroyed.

THE FRENCH ARE COMING TO THE REGION
The French Navy FS Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier has entered the port of Djibouti.
The carrier group is located right next to the Bab el-Mandeb strait and ~2 navigation days away from the strait of Hormuz. It is unlikely to come into the Arabian sea to avoid the area of operation of the US Navy.
