I think this is a legit challenge with the current strategy.
For once, there seemed to be alignment in the region that Iran needs to reeled in and dealt with.
There is no perfect solution now that we are in this thing but I hope the desire to "make a deal" doesn't overshadow the end goal. Even though "regime change" isn't listed as an official goal, we all know it really is.

I sure hope it is. It is the only goal that is long lasting and worth all this effort.

Agreed.
In addition, what's the sense now of having all that military firepower, Israel chomping at the bit, and even the neighbors pissed off and willing to act against the Iranian theocracy and guard? If destroying the current regime doesn't happen now, it never will.
Edit, Maybe the destruction comes through the peoples revolution with air cover and logistics support from US/Israel military and intelligence.

A new directive, issued through China’s Commerce Ministry Sunday, invokes a 2021 "blocking statute" that prohibits firms from complying with foreign sanctions deemed illegitimate. The order applies to several Chinese refiners accused by the United States of purchasing Iranian crude, including major independent processors known as "teapot" refineries.
The move represents a shift from years of opaque workarounds to more explicit state-backed resistance, as Beijing signals it will not cooperate with U.S. efforts to cut off a key source of revenue for Iran.

If Trump wants the US to win this, he’s going to have to make the US the clear bad guy to the global community. The people of Iran aren’t going to rise up until there is effectively no Iran to speak of. That much is clear to me and most other people. So we’re going to have to decide if we care more about winning than our international prestige/respect.

WSJ: Washington has presented Tehran with an updated nuclear proposal.
If accepted, both sides would enter a 30 day negotiation phase focused on final technical details.
Key U.S. demands include:
• Iran formally declaring it is not pursuing a nuclear weapon
• Full dismantling of Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan
• A complete prohibition on underground nuclear activity
• Snap inspections with automatic penalties for violations
• A 20 year halt on uranium enrichment (not permanent)
• Transfer of all enriched uranium stockpiles out of Iran
• Gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz tied to easing of the U.S. blockade
• Sanctions relief only delivered based on compliance milestones

The Maverick Act just passed the Senate, allowing the US Navy to transfer a trio of retired F-14D Tomcats and necessary spare parts to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.
The F-14s have also been authorized to potentially be restored to flying condition.

Iran possibly dumping oil into the gulf?

Satellites have detected a massive oil spill spreading across a vast area of the Persian Gulf around Iran's Kharg Island.
Synthetic aperture radar imagery shows a large surface slick emanating from the waters around Kharg Island, Iran's primary crude oil export terminal responsible for roughly 90% of the country's oil exports.
At the time of detection, multiple tankers were simultaneously loading at the Kharg Island terminal.
It is not yet clear whether the spill originated from a loading operation, a vessel, subsea infrastructure, or the terminal itself.

Iran’s president gave the first public account of a recent meeting with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not been seen publicly since the strikes that killed his father and reportedly wounded him.
Masoud Pezeshkian said the meeting lasted nearly two and a half hours and was held in what he described as a close and cordial atmosphere.
“What stood out to me more than anything else in this meeting was the manner, outlook and deeply humble and cordial approach of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution,” Pezeshkian said.
He added that Khamenei’s approach turned the discussion into “an atmosphere based on trust, calm, empathy and direct dialogue.”
Pezeshkian also linked the meeting to the need for unity inside the leadership, saying Khamenei’s conduct could serve as a model for the country’s management system.

Ya, I think this observation I read is correct. That when Iran lobbed missiles again and the US position was "the ceasefire holds" making the Gulf States the "risk we were willing to take" from Dumb and Dumber, they got pissed and pulled the plug.
A humorous thing I saw is Iran's leadership is so dumb they'll force us into winning. They'll probably throw away this negotiation opportunity again.

From their perspective you can see the issue. They were onboard until Iran started hitting them again and we didn't fire back.
It's not really about them being onboard taking out Iran, they'll open airspace for that. They don't want to get hit for nothing.

The United Arab Emirates has moved several crude oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz with tracking systems switched off in an effort to continue exports during the conflict involving Iran, the US and Israel, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing industry sources and shipping data.
Reuters said at least four tankers carrying about 6 million barrels of Upper Zakum and Das crude left terminals in April despite heightened risks in the waterway.
The report said the vessels sailed with automatic identification system transponders turned off to reduce the chance of detection by Iranian forces.
Some cargoes were transferred to other ships outside the strait before heading to refineries in Malaysia and South Korea, while others were unloaded into storage facilities in Oman, Reuters reported.

The part where a third party (The US or the cops from the movie), put Jeff Daniels (Gulf states) in a risky situation where they take all the hits while the cop (the US) watches.
It's a great reference to a movie

For the second consecutive day, a squadron of exceedingly polite yet unidentified fighter-bombers appeared over Qeshm and Bandar Abbas—without even bothering to ring the doorbell.
Since our dear regime is currently in a radar state of “whatever God wills,” people usually notice the presence of these aerial guests only after they've left, had their tea, and are on their way back home.
Some tech-savvy friends say the engine noise sounded like a Mirage 2000; of course, we're no experts—we just know it was loud enough that a few dear IRGC folks suddenly got interested in testing their blood pressure.
Meanwhile, the crows perched on the power poles report that two particularly mischievous aircraft—one Swedish and one Canadian—have been prowling around southern Iran for the past few nights, apparently conducting “digital technical inspections” on the urban power grid and the mobile phones of our dear proxy friends in the wild Hashd al-Shaabi.
In short, the situation has gotten to the point where now, whenever anything shows up in the sky, people first ask:
“Is this one of ours, or do we have guests again?”
And this big question still lingers:
These ill-mannered birds that entered the sacred airspace of the holy Shiite system without permission—which country do they exactly belong to?
