The President’s preference is always diplomacy, and Iran wants to make a deal.”

hat is the point where Tehran would start feeling the squeeze but it could take a long time to force a reaction, according to Rapidan Energy.
“They prepared for a blockade,” Ferreira said. “They thought it through. They saw what happened in Venezuela.”
“They’re prepared to hold out for months,” the analyst said.
Iran has at least 26 days before its storage tanks fill and production cuts become unavoidable, Ferreira said. The estimate assumes 26 million barrels of onshore storage and 21 million barrels of floating storage in 18 empty, sanctioned tankers in the region, he said.
But it’s a conservative estimate, Ferreira cautioned. Iran’s maximum storage capacity suggests it has space for another 39 million barrels, giving it another 22 days beyond the 26, the analyst said.
There are also 31 ships linked to Iran that will head back to the Middle East through late May which could provide another 50 million barrels of storage, Ferreira said. That would allow Iran to hold out as long 76 days, or well over two months, he said.
These estimates assume Iran is constantly filling its storage at a rate of 1.8 million bpd, Ferreira said. In reality, Tehran will likely start ramping down production, which would stretch the storage further, he said. They also assume Iranian oil exports will not circumvent the blockade at all, the analyst said.
“The blockade can be very effective,” Ferreira said. “It’s about the timeline for it to put Iran under excruciating pain.”
It will take weeks or months to put Tehran under that kind of pressure, he said. “That runway might be longer than Trump has in mind for results,” the analyst said.

Pakistan opens up road trade routes into Iran amid Hormuz blockade
With shipping disrupted by US-Iran tensions, Islamabad activates overland corridor to move stranded cargo into Iran.
Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistan has opened six overland transit routes for goods destined for Iran, formalising a road corridor through its territory as thousands of containers remain stranded at Karachi port because of the United States blockade of Iranian ports and ships trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Ministry of Commerce issued the Transit of Goods through Territory of Pakistan Order 2026 on April 25, bringing it into immediate effect. The order allows goods originating from third countries to be transported through Pakistan and delivered to Iran by road.

I suspect that the thinking of the IRGC is like this : never surrender to the USA. Keep fighting. The USA will weaken eventually. The USA does not have the resolve and internal political unity to keep this war going.
Trump will be out of power eventually. Then you can make a deal with the Dems. The deal will allow Iran time to strike back at US civilians with nukes and dirty bombs, which is now the objective.
Use the US's Vietnam War as the model. Even if you lose every tactical engagement, you can still win the war simply by running out the clock on US political resolve to win the war.
Your civilians are merely tools in your military toolbox. Use them as human shields. Your Religion teaches you that they are going to Heaven if they are killed in US strikes.
Your Religion teaches you that you are going to Hell if you weaken and make a deal with Trump.
Take the military path that leads you to Heaven, which is - Jihad - fight to the death of every man, woman and child in Iran. If you are all Martyrs, you will all be together in Heaven. If you weaken you'll be in Hell with the Infidels.

Yeah, I was reading that silliness earlier this morning.
Does that guy really think Trump and the embargo are going to allow 31 empty tankers to dock in Iran port and start filling up as oil storage? Just silliness and writer and his article can't be taken seriously.

Why would we allow this? We would just capture these ships as they approach the Strait.
