Pezeshkian and Ghalibaf have pretty much been sidelined by the IRGC, so I don't think they have the political clout to remove Araghchi.

Amid the impact of Economic Fury, Iran’s currency has hit an all-time low.

The Iranian people deserve a new era, which the corrupt and shambolic Iranian regime cannot provide.

With their oil industry closing and their currency plummeting, it is past time for the Iranian regime to concede that the people of Iran deserve much better than the ruins of their current regime can provide.

This is exhibit A that the regime isn’t nearly as unstable as everyone wants to believe. Unstable regimes don’t have Page Six headlines about bickering partisans.

Things aren’t heating up until they start reporting which officials are under house arrest.

The strongly implied message in Bessent's post is that any deal will require a handover of power as well as the nuclear issues.

I'm not sure the administration has been super clear on that specific issue.

I imagine some of this is because they would take a Venezuela type situation. Someone who is "part of the regime" but "acts right."
