Even more importantly, the US dollar is tapped out because that $40 T debt you cite is a threat to the dollar. What we need is a more efficient military that maximizes the value of every dollar spent. Hegseth seems to be doing pretty well on the operations aspect of running the military; we need to see him do a spectacular job on the cost/efficiency side of things as well.

What we really need even more than that is for every member of congress to spend the rest of their lives in prison for stealing so much money that we have any national debt at all.

I'm glad Israel is on the case here- Iran can't just hope that the US will get tired of the war. Iran's threat is more immediately existential for Israel than for us, and they will act accordingly. Alone if necessary- like they did last June.

As we have pretty much reached the limits of airpower alone, America and Israel need to arm the uprising in a major way. Ukrainian style drones and more drones would ferret the IRGC rats out of their holes.
