I've been pulling your leg a bit over your mentioning of drones. Let me elaborate on my vision of drone use wrt the US military.

First, if we do arm Iran with drones they'll be very primitive in nature and more likely assemble yourself kit styles similar to what Ukraine is using, as you suggest.

My vision is the US military using extremely sophisticated small drones as a swarm like the halftime shows use. Big difference being the swarm is controlled by AI to act and attack in most efficient manner. Targets will be identified in real time by informants or know intelligence. Each drone would act almost autonomously, almost. People would not be flying them or directing them, only identifying the targets. Think a blend of sSkynet and the nanobot swarms of the Michael Creighton book "Prey".

BTW, wanted to reiterate one of the posts of social media in this thread many pages back claims one of the carrier groups has been using laser to knock out drones very effectively and for pennies per shot. US may be breaking out this technology for real life trial.

Who knows based on the limited news and conflicting reports coming out of the region.

But ceasefire, or not, it would be pretty silly to think the US and Israel are not probing Iranian air defenses (perfect use of small "disposable" drones) to see what lights up and assess Iran's readiness.
