I see its been answered and its 11. That is mandated by US law that we have 11 carriers to maintain a continuous global presence. It used to be mandated we have 12 but that was changed not all that long ago.
We also have 9 amphibious assault ships or "helo carriers." China is the closest in terms of carriers with just 3 to 5 (I think they either just had, or are about to have the last one come o line to make 5). But they have very little experience on how to use them. They will have to figure out things like how long to deploy them and maintenance schedules etc.

I'm not sure that the USA at this point in its history has the power to win a war like this one. We simply do not possess the kind of determination, will and perseverance necessary to unite and win a war like this one.

Iranians were ready to do it themselves. They already have a leader in exile who has popular support and is ready to take over. It will take a little coordination, but this is definitely not Iraq or Afghanistan
