I still suspect that the USA will need to have some kind of on-the-ground operation inside Iran that can establish a secure base or bases that will allow some activity that will recruit and train some Persian guerilla freedom fighters for combat. I still think we'll need to wage some doctrinal Unconventional Warfare inside Iran in order to topple the Regime.

Of course, if we give up on toppling the Regime, this won't be required. We can deal with the Regime later down the road.
