The US Senate never ratified the treaty. Nixon never bothered to ask them to.

I haven't seen any exact numbers of missiles or drones.
"Made it through" is somewhat of a subjective judgement. Even if the air defenses destroy a missile, there is still going to be shrapnel that his the ground somewhere.
