This person makes a pretty good point:

Unfortunately, the only way for the outcome of this conflict to be "successful" is to put boots on the ground, which was kind of obvious from the beginning.

There is only one thing keeping an army of over 50 million people from toppling the IRGC and that one thing is firearms and ammo. That is it. Nothing else is needed although air support would make it less bloody for the uprising.

We need to get some Ukrainian style drones in the right hands.

Sure. Weapons and ammo too, but drones is the new IED.

No need for drones (not that I am opposed to that) when all some with a gun has to do is walk down the street and when an IRGC member is seen is pull out the pistol and shoot him in the back.

And

Stick a rifle out of a window and blow the head off of an IRGC member at a check point.

Check points are often only a couple of people. If they have more then simply have twice as many as them.

Game set match.

This is the problem with this "ceasefire".

Iran has some military capability left, that is obvious.

If they are left alone and given weeks, or months, to dig out and hatch a plan then they are still capable of doing quite a bit of damage in. a targeted offensive attack. The Kuwait airport is a prime example.

If they are running around dodging strikes with constantly interrupted communications and wondering which military leader is going to get bombed next, they are much less dangerous.

Foot on the gas and don't let up until they surrender is the only battle plan I can see.

You want to either go to congress and have war declared so the Democrats will have to make a decision. You want to defend this country by taking care of these people now or be the ones to let this country be destroyed by weakness and letting terrorist run the world.

This is 1979 all over again. Do we take care of the problem or keep letting them lie and string us out.

I dont know what the President does as i am not in the meetings. But i have dealt with Iranians in my life who hate this country with a passion and yet live here.

What i learned is they are basically cowards in the way they do things. Killing innocents and talk a good game but when you call their bluff they will cower like a scared roach that runs away.

The President is getting bad advice by allowing them to delay and and delay and delay some more.

If you dont have someone in charge to deal with then there is no one in charge but their military leaders.

The time has come to declare no peace and bring them begging for us to stop. Then finish them and allow the people who have been repressed for 47 years to have their day.

It's been a couple of weeks since the airlift updates\flight trackers have been posted online. Looks like they are moving assets back into the ME after moving a lot out over the last couple of weeks:

In the second Iraqi conflict the Iraq soldiers and their equipment were sitting ducks from the air. If we put boots on the ground and force the republican guard out of their caves the same thing will happen. We didn't lose a soldier on the rescue and took out all of the Iranians looking for the downed pilot.

IRGC is saying the missiles fired from them hitting the airport in Kuwait was not their fault, that it was the fault of the patriot battery failing to intercept the missiles. That is some kind of projection there.

I think they are Implying that the most damage came from an errant missile(s) from the Patriots? It’s possible but ultimately still their fault. Surprised they wouldn’t want to take credit for all the damage.

Maybe, but the patriot batteries don't fire unless the IRGC launched missiles at Kuwait in the first place. So regardless, it is their fault to begin with.

We don't need a full declaration of war. Congress has the power to authorize anything it decides to authorize. All the administration has to do is put together a competent plan, approach congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle, and then sell the plan. They can absolutely get enough Democrats to vote for it.

The election year cuts both ways. Many democrats are also under pressure not to be seen as useless in the face of an actual threat. The present expansion of the war by Iran is a huge threat.
