so much goes on that this kind of comment gets glossed over. it basically means "everyone else is wrong, i am right." this is what i mean by category 4. it doesn't matter how many facts or how much substantiation is presented. this person does not have the rational capability of understanding even the most simple point, like the nice truck attack killing 86 people. or that europe has mass shootings too despite stricter gun laws.

Check the thread from the day of the MSD shooting.

For fricks sake, which thread of over a 100 threads in the past month would you like to peruse in order to find your position on this topic?

You could easily just type out, again, what you are proposing.

Apparently not, you keep getting distracted.

But it's okay, I'll wait until you provide what you promised you could.

He purchased the means to make the automatic weapon legally - that doesn't strike you as crazy?

It didn’t make it full-auto and that is the reason it is legal to own without getting a tax stamp. A bump stock fires one round per pull of the trigger. That is by definition semi-auto.

Their is a guy that can actually shoot a semi-auto without a bump stock faster than a semi-auto with a bump stock.

Not at all. Distraction doesn't work on me. You owe me a paper. I'm driving this, not you.

Why do you only care about victims of gun Homicides? Rape, robbery, agrevated assault, etc. don’t seem to matter to you.

Hell people killed with knives, fist, or blunt objects don’t matter to you either.

Why is that?

What good is preventing gun deaths if they'll just turn into knife deaths, or hangings?

Our homicide rates are pretty consistent with peers. Considering our pervasive gang culture, that's pretty amazing.

Yeah, but this is more fun.

Repealing the Dickey Amendment to allow for funded studys to better understand the most effective ways to reduce gun violence in the US
Universal background checks - including private sellers, with removal of shall-issue laws for delays
Comprehensive mandatory registration for all new purchases, in a central searchable database
Stricter penalties for straw purchasers
Raise the age for non-hunting rifles to 21, to match handguns
Minimum 3-day waiting period (maybe longer, not sure if there's a good break point data show as better for cooling-off periods)
Passage of Red Flag laws or GVRO's
Ban on certain types of weapons overwhelmingly used in mass casualty events and little else - e.g. AR-15s
Ban on things like bump stocks used to circumvent existing laws limiting power and rate of fire

What I don't want:
Any competent gun owner's guns forcibly taken from them

What?! So you are telling me that my 33rd mag for my glock doesn’t exist?

And what are these “other features”?

2016 article with actual facts certainly trumps a 2012 op-ed full of half-truths and faulty reasoning. You are such a miserable failure, no wonder you are a gun-control loon.

So Virgina Tech didn't happen in your world?

Two pistols killed 32 people and they didn't have that dreaded 30 round AR15 magazine.

Magazine size is not something that contributes to lethality.

A rare event that almost never happens. You are hundreds of times more likely to have a gun you own used on you or someone in your household than you ever are to use it in self-defense.

Show me the study that this is true.

At this point you're arguing about shades of gray. "Automatic-like fire" and "Fully auto fire" kill proportionately more people second than other things, why quibble over a few rounds per minute?

quote:

A bump stock fires one round per pull of the trigger

A bump stock reconfigures the weapon so that ones finger need not move to perform endless 'pulls'. Again, you're wasting time on semantics which really weakens any point you may have had.

Florida school shooting didn't use 900 round clips either.

You have no fricking clue what you're talking about.

So does a rubber band.

They won't. Gun deaths aren't replaced by other deaths in the same quantities when stricter gun control laws are passed.

And you're misreading that map if you think it shows us as consistent with our peers - look at the scale, and think of the rate.

Bama wants to "solve the problem of gun deaths" and by doing so, take away the ability of the weakest among us to defend ourselves while doing absolutely nothing to lower the rate of intentional homicide.
