I've yet to post any bullshite. You've yet to post the analysis you promised you could provide, but that we both know is beyond your capabilities.

Continue to show you're incapable of it.

Then lets work on the overall problem. When you bring stuff to the table like "magazine size restrictions", "military appearance", etc. you're doing your goal a disservice.

But those are part of the overall problem (notice I did not say military appearance, I don't give a shite that Clames paints all of his guns pink and purple). Who the frick needs a 30-round magazine? If it's for hunting, you're a shitty hunter. If it's for home defense, you might want to reconsider what you're aiming at. Yet we see those used again and again to kill innocents.

Anyone who is considered an expert with firearms, who uses them and shoots them often will tell you that these things don't matter.

I'm not sure we can take those people at their word on this issue, since they have a vested interest in expanding access to guns. We know that that gets more people killed.

Again, you are focusing on a rifle that is responsible for less than 1% of all gun deaths in the country.

No, -you- are focusing on said rifle. Read what I posted about specific things we could change - not one of them focused on any specific rifle.

You think that if you can divert the subject to how AR-15s really aren't that bad, you won't have to respond to the rest.

There are ~141million gun owners. You’re going to craft a law that handles each one individually? people aren’t ignoring you. They just don’t share your magical thinking.

While preventing mass shootings would be a great side effect of stricter gun control laws, the real aim should be to limit the daily murders by firearms that we see all over the country in such higher rates than other similar countries.
Why not just make murder illegal?

It's from a SciAm article from Oct 2017.

(btw, the second set of ORs depicted here is why some people here are so scared of Hemenway - he directly refuted one of their heroes, and embarrassed him in the process)

Of course not. That's not what I said at all, and you should know better.

Let's unpack this - what exactly do you mean by that?

dealing drugs, cheating on a SO, gang affiliation, all correlate orders of magnitude better than gun ownership to homicide. It’s not even a contest here. But she continually ignores this and squawks “more guns more deaths”

Obamas CDC study shattered this myth.

If Obamas study isn't good enough for you than it's clear you aren't interested in reason.

You are unobjectively tailoring "evidence" to fit your opinion, which is easy to do in the gun debate since there is so much misinformation out there.

Btw, you asked for my list of changes and I gave some.

Which of them do you agree with? Why?

Which of them do you disagree with? Why?

Please provide data to support any conclusions.

Is that broken down by state? Some states did not allow or only recently allowed concealed carry. If a lot of those crimes came from states where self-defense with a gun is limited due to the inability to carry, then that is an issue...

You'd always want to control for demographics.

That's one of the most basic things any researcher does.

It wasn't a study, and that you think it was only demonstrates your ignorance.

As has been stated in this thread by me and others, this was a paper meant to compile current research without opining on the validity or strength of any particular study. It was in no way a meta-analysis.

I know you don't know what a meta-analysis is, so you can google it.
