NYT - Twitter Must Cleanse the Trump Stain

quote:
The president is spreading a vile conspiracy theory on the platform. Maybe Twitter should finally hold him to its rules.
quote:
“Please delete those tweets,” the widower begged in a letter last week to Twitter’s chief executive, Jack Dorsey. “My wife deserves better.”
Yes, Twitter, Lori Klausutis certainly does deserve better, nearly two decades after she died in a tragic accident that has morphed into a macabre and continuing nightmare for her husband, Timothy Klausutis.
The boogeyman plunging him and the family of his late wife into the very worst of memory holes is a conspiracy-theory-loving, twitchy-fingered and often shameless tweeter who also happens to be the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
quote:
The real issue is the very serious collateral damage of this fight, which is the post-mortem libel of Ms. Klausutis and the ensuing suffering of her husband and family. They are the victims, of Mr. Trump and of Twitter’s inability to manage its troubled relationship with him.
At least Mr. Trump is consistent in his lowering of the bar. As the number of Americans who have died from the coronavirus approached 100,000, the president declined to address the virus’s tragic toll and chose instead to keep up the series of tweets about Ms. Klausutis, all aimed at attacking Mr. Scarborough, who is now a high-profile MSNBC host.
quote:
While I had thought throwing Mr. Trump off Twitter was not the worst idea — after all, what would the president do without his raging addiction to Twitter? — I have come to believe that a Trump ban would be pointless and too drastic.
Another solution being discussed inside Twitter is to label the tweets as false and link to myriad high-quality information and reporting that refute the tweets’ sinister insinuations.

The nyt has been pushing conspiracy theories about Trump for years. I guess they should have though that through a little better.

Not sure why so many lesbians try to look like men.

TRANSLATION: We must remove every vehicle by which President Trump can bypass the corrupt, bought-and-paid-for corporate media and communicate the truth to the American people.

Trump should hype it 3 years, then if proven untrue he should not apologize and immediately move to something else.

I think the funniest part of this is that technically, the NYT is correct. It's not really cool to spread shite this bad that you can't really come close to proving.
HOWEVER, it's fricking the height of no self awareness for the NYT to be saying it.

NYT is going to lose it in November after the results come in...

I wouldn't use the NYT to wipe my arse. I have too much respect for my body to do that.

lol ... the NYT is effectively asking Twitter/Jack Dorsey to commit Seppuku .... smh
The very day that Trump is removed from Twitter is the day you don't want to be a Twitter shareholder, for certain.
Millions of subscribers will migrate en masse to whatever platform POTUS moves to (Gab or Parler likely) ...

Trump made Twitter, Twitter did not make Trump. Tweeters will just flock to wherever he migrates. Twitter knows this and won't lose their #1 influencer.

The NY Times hasn’t been a credible paper since they sold us the War in Iraq.

Just like Seth Rich was swept under the rug and called a conspiracy. The MSM is just as dangerous and will do their bidding.

I wish ALL people would take a second before dismissing anything “conspiracy theory”. Think for this second to yourself “what if it actually true”.
Millions of things throughout history once thought crazy, ended up being facts.

I know its unpopular here but I actually hate what Trump is doing with this. It does not make him look good and has no benefit imo.

“How could he win? Nobody I know voted for him!!!”
NYT in 1972 or 2020?

I just find it absurd that outlets who HAPPILY purvey vile conspiracy theories on the flimsiest of evidence are complaining about it.
